Go Go Go Joseph!

Some lovely friends of ours invited us to go see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with them tonight.  I've seen it before, but not live, and I had the best time.  Part of it is fond memories of my Old Testament professor in seminary, who used to play parts of the soundtrack when we talked about the story of Joseph.  I always hear certain lyrics in his voice.  It was fun and I'm so glad we went because it was just what I needed after a very frustrating day.  Clearly now we need to look at technicolor shoes, right?

I think I actually like every pair of shoes in this picture. Woohoo for technicolor!

I don't particularly care for any of these.   I don't hate them, but maybe if the yellow shoe was that shape but the greenish color?   I like the green, but don't really like the shape.  And the yellow is just too bright.  I love the shape of the last pair (I know you're shocked), but the color combo isn't working for me.

Wow.  OK, I actually think I would wear every pair above before wearing these.  They're festive?

Is this a real shoe or a painting?  It was listed as an actual shoe, but I'm not sure.  This is what you get when you leave the toddler alone with the finger paints.

I like them.  I want them for Easter.

I like these until the toe.  Is that fabric or texture?  Either way it throws things off for me.

Awwww.  Perfect way to end a post and go to bed.

Bears

This morning when I woke up the headache was better!  Unfortunately the hubby woke up to discover his back was out (what does that guy DO in his sleep?).  As the day went on his back got better (with the help of ibuprofen, heating pad and massages) and my head got worse.  It was like I siphoned my head pain into his back and he siphoned it right back to me.  Thankfully it's not as bad as yesterday, but it's still there and it still sucks.

Oh well.  Happier thoughts.  I think they Pinterest Friend has bears on the mind.  Is it because she moved to Idaho and the winter is getting to her?   Bears are hibernating and she wants to be too?  Bears are cute when they aren't trying to eat you?  Heehee.  Let's check out the bear shoes.

Baby bear slippers!  I think the puppies need some.

Awww...the Care Bears.  I had a blue one.  No idea what it was called.  Maybe it had a moon and stars on its tummy?  Maybe I'm remembering someone else's?  Yeah, no idea.  I do know I watched the cartoon and I had a couple of Care Bear books.  These shoes are adorable.

Fiercer, bigger bear slippers! I think the puppies need the little ones and Pedro needs these!  Because a bear wearing bear slippers is funny.  And because Pedro would like some claws.

I love Winnie the Pooh, and I didn't find this pair in my previous post.  I love all the characters, but I resonate with Piglet.  I may have been Piglet in a former life.

I have a headache and a lap full of puppies, so it kind of washes out, right?  A friend mentioned on Facebook today that she too has had a headache last few days, as have a bunch of people at the school she works at.  One of my pastor friends needs to come and exorcise all of these headaches from hell!

Soothing

I have had a massive headache all day. Hormones maybe? Sinuses? Whatever, it's awful and it won't go away. So tonight's shoes are calm and soothing. Nothing too bright, nothing too soothing. Also, very few words from me, which I'm sure we'll be soothing to everyone.

If my searches tonight were any indication, slate blue and sage green are very popular wedding colors right now.

Please send good vibes that my headache will go the hell away.

2015

Have you been wondering what the new, 2015 shoes are looking like?  Probably not, but I thought I'd do a quick image search and see what I could find.  What I found was colorful but weird.

These aren't bad except for the odd piece sticking out in the middle.  I like the colors otherwise.

Also not bad.  Except for that rather hideous puffball.  It looks kind of cheap and cheesy, I think.

OK...maybe weird puffballs are a theme for the year?  Has anyone seem them out in the "wild?"

Better color-wise.  Still weird shape-wise.

Just ugly.

These are wedding shoes.  They aren't bad, actually.  They might even be cute on.

Almost?  I like the patchwork and the colors.  I could live with these possibly.

Smooshed puffballs!  Colorful and shiny, but still no.

So basically there are some fun colors out there this year, but also a lot of weirdness.  Of course, these are mostly from fashion week shows, and those are always weird.  Hopefully the shoes for us normal people are a little less whacky.

Kanit

Remember how Friday's calendar picture was such a nice surprise?  Well, then yesterday I flipped to the weekend picture and found

this.  What are these?  WHY are these?  And more importantly, why do the weird ones have to be on the weekend so I have to look at them for 2 days?

So.  I'm only showing you this, but not doing the rest of the post around it.  Instead, I'm going off of inspiration from the Pinterest Friend.

It's a clock that knits one scarf per year.  A knitting clock!  I don't know how it works, and frankly I don't care because I'm just going to pretend it's magic, like Molly Weasley's knitting needles.

Of course we're now going to look at knit shoes.  Knitting and crocheting are similar in some ways, but I feel like you can do a lot more intricate patterns with knitting vs. crocheting.  And that sucks.  It sucks because I can't knit.  OK, I technically CAN knit because my awesome mother (who can both knit and crochet) taught me.  But I've been crocheting for around 30 years, and she tried teaching me about 10 years ago.  At 20 years in my muscle memory was pretty well in place, and while I could do it I was super slow at it.  Which was frustrating because I'm fast with crocheting.  Clearly I have no patience.  At any rate, I think these are interesting.  I like the purple ones best, then gray, then blue.  Blue will probably never forgive me.

See?  Green and black plaid sneakers.  You could maybe do something similar with crochet, but it wouldn't look as seamless and it would be bulkier.

Baby shoes are one place where I feel like crochet isn't the red headed step child.

Patterns!  I always want to be able to do intricate patterns.

Adorableness!

Bright adorableness!

And that's my post on knitting.  (which if you are around my father, you always pronounce the k.  He also calls people who crochet "hookers."  Eye roll)

Think Spring

This post was actually intended for yesterday, but I ended up going to bed at 8:30.  It didn't help as I had a horrible, restless night fully of weird dreams and too much awake-ness.  It was really quite annoying.  Oh well, better a day late than never.

As you know, sometimes when I turn the page on the calendar I am truly horrified.  Other times there is definite shoe lust.  A lot of the time I'm kind of indifferent.  I don't hate them, but I don't looooove them either.  So it's always nice when I get a definite reaction, like I did yesterday:

Cute!  I love them.  They remind me of spring, and this really gorgeous lavender dress and jacket Mom made me for Easter one year.  You can't see it in the picture, but the straps crisscross in the front, which I think makes them even more fun.  And since I've been neglecting my friends who love purple (hi, BFF!), it's time to look at lavender shoes and think of spring.

I want these!  Then I want that purple dress back and the body that went with it.  No?  How 'bout a unicorn instead?

I want to like these better.  Those are lilacs, and I love lilacs.  I think it's the fabric.  I want them to be sleeker instead of poofy and fluffy.  (Hey, Dad:  I expected something more grand!  Less...fuzzy)  On a sort of related note, did you know that a synonym for fuzzy is velutinous?  Please try to use that in a sentence 3 times in the next week.

  Simple.  Classy.

Ooookay.  Do they remind me of spring/Easter?  Yes.  Would I wear them?  Hell no.

I like that they're t-strap, but not fond of the wedge heel on this particular shoe.  These make me think of bridesmaids shoes.

Oh man.  I need the purple dress and the body back, AND I need the hubby to wear these with his lavender shirt and black suit.  No?  Again?  Fine.  Can I have a turquoise unicorn?

These remind me of my wedding shoes.  Except I like my wedding shoes better.  Which I should as they are mine.

Squeeee!  Someone needs to have a wedding with purple as the color and someone else needs to have a small child who can wear these shoes with a floofy dress.  Or possibly a velvet dress that is veltutinous?

For those of you who love flats.  These are really cute.

These were labeled as wedding shoes.  I like them?  Mostly I like them, but there is just something teeny tiny about them that I can't put my finger on.

I think maybe the calendar wants it to be spring, too, because this is from last January:

They're leaning more toward pink, but still definitely leaning toward spring.

Good night.  Go to bed and dream dreams of spring.

Blast From the Future Past

I give you today's calendar shoe:

It's pretty horrible, right?  But the heel makes me think of The Jetsons, which I used to love.  It used to be on after school, along with The Flintstones.  It helps to make this horrible shoe a tiny bit less horrible.  Let's make the whole post a little happier.

Same shoes, different angle.  Hey, where are our robot housemaids and flying cars that fold into a briefcase?

This came up when I searched for Jetsons Shoes.  I agree, definitely futuristic looking.  What color would you say these are?  Green?  Gray?  Greenish-gray-turquoise?

Wow, does Judy look yellow in this picture.  But look at her cute little black ballet flats!

Mama Jetson is either wearing purple, above the knee boots or she's wearing purple tights and no shoes.  Hmmmm...

And finally, since I've had it stuck in my head all day, here is the theme song for your viewing pleasure.
