Ladybugs

I need something to make me smile today.  2 years ago I posted Doodlebug shoes in honor of KAH's birthday.  Of course, it's his birthday again today, which makes me smile.  Although I can't believe he's 24.  He was born when I was 18, so for this year we're inverse ages.  I posted this picture on Facebook this morning:

This is from when I used to do daycare for him and his sister, and this is how I tend to think of him (although I DO realize he is a grown man with a job and a life, of whom I am incredibly proud).  I have a small obsession with small children in overalls, so dressed him in them as often as possible.

So that's my doodlebug.  I already did a doodlebug post, though, and there weren't a lot of options, but doodlebug led me to ladybug, which makes me think of The Bean, which also makes me smile.  So today's post will be ladybug shoes, of which there are lots.

These are very sweet.  I might even wear them if they came in my size.

I would totally wear these in my size, but only if there was a small child (or several) who had matching pairs and we used them for puddle jumping!

So cute.  But dang those are some big eyes.

I'm thinking my mama could totally make these in a variety of sizes.

Ribbon laces!  You know I'm a sucker for ribbon laces.  In fact, I wore my coral canvas shoes with the ribbon laces just yesterday.

I love all the colors on this.

See?  I should post more often as this one has given me several things to smile about.

Pink Flamingos

I'm feeling a little down today, a little disconnected.  It's my own fault...we're working such crazy hours that all I want to do is fall into bed when we get home, and if we're not working on the weekends I don't want to leave the house for much more than errands.  So I'm a pretty crappy friend of late, and I feel like because of this most of the friends I have here (which is sadly very few) have kind of written me off.  Whether they actually have or whether I'm just having a moment of self-pity I'm not entirely sure right now, but it was a rough day in terms of emotions.  You know it's bad when you almost start crying at the office because of the song that pops up on ITunes.  Thankfully the random holidays calendar gave me a reason to smile tonight:  Pink Flamingo Day.  Or, as we call them in my family, Pink Mingo Birds.  I can't remember which niece it was who used to call them that...Double A maybe?  There's a running joke with my dad and pink flamingos, so I will dedicate this post to him.

I kind of love pink flamingo shoes.  I don't actually want to own or wear any of them, but they are bright and hilarious and fun, and they make me smile.  Which I totally needed tonight, so thanks, Pink Mingo Bird Shoes!

Potential

Tonight's post is brought to you by inspiration from the Pinterest Friend, although not from Pinterest this time.

The PF has recently started her own photography business and got these as part of a bunch of props.  How cute are these?   I told her that we would book a newborn shoot with her and these shoes for the Potential Baby.  You know...some day...maybe.

I'm not a huge fan of animal print, but I went in search of more giraffe print baby shoes.  I actually chose these for the bows because now that I'm looking at them again I'm not terribly fond of the pattern.

Look!  The same shoes with a black ribbon.  AND the same shoes from the first picture!  I try to find my excitement wherever I can...

These just crack me up.  So fancy!

Maybe the PB could actually be PT (Potential Twins), a boy and a girl and then they could have coordinating blue sparkly shoes.  I need therapy, don't I?

Or I could just get a whole bunch of colors of sparkly tennies.

These might actually be doll shoes, but I think they're adorable.

In conclusion (a conclusion that has nothing to do with the rest of the post), I would like to know why there is no chocolate in my house when I want to eat my feelings.  I do not approve of this chocolateness in the slightest.
