Frosty

The Brother works late on Tuesday, which means that Double A and The Bean stay until 9:00.  After dinner the parents and Double A watched NCIS while The Bean and I snuggled up in bed and watched Netflix on my kindle. (Oh, Double A also made cookies.  Yummy chocolate cookies.  Cookies we call Cow Patties because they look like a cow flew over.  She's awesome, as her name implies.)  We ended up watching The Legend of Frosty the Snowman, which is a Frosty movie from 2005 that neither of us had ever seen.  It was weird.  It had some cute moments, but it was really odd.  We both prefer the earlier Frostier movies.  But the snuggling and hanging out time was awesome, so I will not complain.  Tonight's shoes are Frosty-inspired:

I wasn't searching specifically for Zazzle, but these are all Zazzle, and are the first 3 pairs I found.  I like them. 

That snowman is just so happy!

Hypothetical question:  Would it be wrong to leave a spouse to stay in Montana and snuggle with nieces?  Asking for a friend... 😁😋

Adventy Snowmen

I'm combining 2 posts today in an effort to get some of the jumble out of my head.  On Saturday I watched Frosty the Snowman, Frosty Returns and Frosty's Winter Wonderland while I crocheted, which made me want to do a snowman post, but I didn't because we don't currently have internet at the house, and then Sunday I got sidetracked and did something else.  So I'm starting with that.

Look at these cute, smug snowmen!  These are a little crazy-busy, but I think they're adorable.

Those are some ginormous carrot noses, but otherwise I think these are also adorable.  And they are definitely going in the PB's imaginary closet.

 

I love these!  I want these!  Notice the similarity to the first pair?  I found this website today that you should definitely visit if you want some snowman shoe adorableness.  Just don't look at the prices, because holy buckets.

Sunday was the 4th Sunday in Advent, and I was going to do a post on the blue shoes the calendar has offered up in December, but again: sidetracked.

These would have looked awesome with my St. Someone's chasuble, I think.

That is a teeny tiny skinny heel and I'm not sure I could walk on it, but I really like the overall shape of this.

 

Is this an Advent blue?  No.  Do I care?  Not really.  This is from 1955, according to the helpful information up there in the corner.  They aren't my favorite shape and style in the world, but I do love me some turquoise.

Now that I've mixed secular snowmen with religious Advent I shall leave you to ponder whatever it is you were pondering before you came here.

Crafternoon

In October SKD, the hubby, and I spent a lovely afternoon painting pumpkins.  We had such a good time we decided we needed to do it more often.  And so yesterday we did.  It probably should have been a more Thanksgiving-related craft, but we saw a video on Facebook and had all of the supplies between us, so we went with snowmen, which we both love:

The video showed them with white hats, made from the toes of the same sock used to make their bodies, but SKD has a ton of mismatched socks (4 kids apparently can lose a lot of socks over time!), so we went with colored hats and matching scarves.  It was a lot of fun, and a nice, silly way to spend the afternoon in the midst of all the crazy-stressful-depression of late.

Because I am a dork, I dressed appropriated for the occasion with snowman socks and earrings.

Because I am a bossy dork, I also decreed that everyone was only allowed to drink out of snowman cups.

Because how cute are these?  SKD was a good sport about it, and the hubby drank one cup of iced tea, but then said since he wasn't crafting he was going to drink out of something bigger.  Silly hubby.  And I also completely understand.

OK, obviously today will be snowman related in terms of shoes.  Some of you actually have snow whereas we in California have to create our snowmen out of socks.

I've posted some of these before, and I'm not even going to apologize for it.  I love snowmen, baby shoes, and slippers, so of course I love the entire selection.  And the Olaf shoes are for The Bean, since she's a fan.

Maybe in January we'll do a turkey craft of some sort...

Blue Christmas

December continues apace.  This morning the hubby had a miserable, 2 hour dental visit for a deep cleaning.  Poor guy.  I sat in the waiting room and read and worked on a sermon so I could drive him home.  I had to run to Target after I got him home to pick up his prescription, and of course it hadn't been called in yet, so I had to wander around for a half an hour.  Don't get me wrong, I love Target, but I had to implement really good boundaries so I wouldn't buy a bunch of stuff I didn't need.  I didn't get to church until something crazy like 1:30.  Tonight was our Blue Christmas service.  The sr. pastor usually preaches this one, but I got it this year.  My sermon was not good.  My apologies to those who attended who were hoping for better.  Since it was blue Christmas, naturally we need some blue Christmas shoes:

Shoe gift tags!  Do those look blue to you?  They seemed bluer when I saved the picture. Now they seem more seafoam green.
