Love is Love is Love

I was reminded this week that I have amazing friends and family.  You'd think I would know this by now, but a little reminder never hurts.  First, a friend from seminary was in town from Washington DC and she stayed with the hubby and me on Thursday night.  It was sooooo good to see her and hang out.  We had dinner with the BSF Thursday night and it was really great to have some good, quality girl time.  I definitely needed it.  There were a bunch of other reminders of why my friends are awesome these past couple of days, but I'm not going to go into the details in this post. Suffice it to say that I have felt surrounded by love.  I hope I can pay that love forward, backward, sideways, and interdimensionally in thanks.  To celebrate, tonight's shoes are love themed.

I've posted these before, but they are Beatles shoes that say All You Need is Love a million times.  No, really, it's a million, I counted.  And I'll probably post them a million times more.  Also, I love the colors.

I don't like this as well as the first pair, but I still love the colors, and it looks like a DIY project, so I appreciate the effort.

Yes, I know this is the same as the first pair, but it's for a TODDLER.  Someone please get me a toddler so s/he can have these shoes!

I know these last two are kind of tiny and hard to see, but they are Toms, and all covered in hearts, and I like the colors on both.

It's true, all you need is love, and I am grateful and blessed to have been showered in love t his week.  Thank you, my friends.

Introverting

I saw this shirt on Facebook recently, and I think I need it:

I definitely haven't been getting enough introvert time lately, so I thought I'd do a post about it and pretend.

Introverting definitely needs some snuggly wuggly slippers, in my opinion.  And yes, I just made introvert into a verb.

Bunny slippers are a classic for a reason.  I could wear these for more whimsical introvert times.

A good introvert activity is to hang out and watch movies, so themed slippers seem appropriate.  The Chewie slippers crack me up. I'm not sure I want to put my foot in Darth Vader's mouth, though.

Reading Harry Potter sounds like the perfect introvert activity.  I would need these slippers.

Oooh, I definitely need these slippers!  And to listen to some Beatles while introverting and reading Harry Potter.

You know I love dragonflies, and I love the colors of these, but I want them to be more snuggly wuggly.  Maybe they are and they just don't look like it from the picture?  Not sure.  What I am sure of is that I need some slippers and a book and some Beatles and some puppy snuggles and a whole day of not talking to another person one day soon.  I should figure out how to accomplish that.

Global Beatle Day

Thanks to the Pinterest Friend and the holiday calendar I found out that today is Global Beatles Day!

I definitely need to put this on my calendar so I can celebrate it on a yearly basis.  According to the GBD website:

GBD (founded 2009) is a day honoring and celebrating the phenomenon and ideals of the Beatles,  collectively and individually, for their gifts to the world including, but not limited to, their promotion of peace and love, of truth and youth, and of the expansion of human consciousness. More specifically, GBD commemorates the Beatles music – their promotion and expansion of rhythm and blues, rock and roll, world music… and especially their collective and personal exploration of a myriad  of musical ideas and innovations.

It then goes on to talk some about their song All You Need is Love, which is what I used as inspiration for this post, since I've already posted a ton of Beatles shoes.

It's hard to tell, but these say All You Need is Love over and over.  I like the colors, but I wish they were easier to read.

Here they are with their brothers and sisters in the line.

I seen this show!  I don't have the shoes, though.

I have these socks!  Because the BFF is awesome.

The first pair comes in baby size!

Seriously, I need to have a baby and dress him/her in nothing but Beatles stuff.

Heehee.

I can't leave you without the song itself:

Frankly, with everything going on in the world right now we could all use, and give a little more love.

BFF

So, we actually left the office early last night!  I think we left around 6:30, which is awesome.  I didn't have to try and sneak  in a nap!  Sadly I woke up this morning feeling worse than ever, so after a rather miserable day of hacking and blowing my nose and generally being gross the hubby took pity on me and we left at 4:00.  Can you even imagine?  I hope the office didn't fall down in our absence.  We came home and I took a lovely nap and read some.  I woke up awhile ago, caught up on a few things I should have finished at the office, and now I'm going to write a quick post and go back to sleep.  Hopefully I'm feeling better by tomorrow.

Today is Best Friends Day!  I have the BEST best friend.  She is awesome.  If I weren't so tired I could go on and on as to why she is the bestest, but I will have to save that for another post.  In the meantime here are 2 pictures in honor of her:

Purple Keens Mary Janes.  Purple is her favorite color and I already know she has Keens Mary Janes, so these are perfect.

And The Beatles, of course.  I love this shoe, and think we both need a pair.

I hope you have a bestest best friend who is as awesome as mine is!

May 21

This is the post that I meant to do yesterday but the stupid headache wouldn't let me.  The headache is still lingering today, but it's not as bad thank goodness.  So yesterday was a good day although a bit emotional.  First, it was Pippi's 9th birthday!  She is sweet and smart and sassy and has always had the ability to crack me up.  Even as a baby her personality was awesome.  Here are some shoes named after her:

I'd say this was sweet and sassy.

I'd like to see this in a color but couldn't find it.  I like the detailing on the heel, it reminds me of fairies somehow.

Yesterday was also emotional as I went to a memorial service to say good-bye to a beautiful woman from St. Someone's.  She was a bright light during my time there and always made me feel loved, supported and appreciated.  It was clear from the remembrances and people's conversations that she made everyone she met feel that same way.   I  love this picture the family had displayed in the sanctuary:

Wasn't she beautiful?  She had the same first name as my mama, just spelled differently.  Here are shoes named after her (with that spelling):

She was always well-dressed and had great accessories.  I'm not sure if these orange ones would have been to her taste, but I'm sure she would have figured out the right outfit to pull them off with.

After the service I met SKD and took her for a 1 day less than a month late birthday pedicure.  She gave me a belated birthday present, too, and hers was awesome:

She MADE me Beatles cups!  Isn't she just the coolest?

Her cup is way better than these shoes, that's for sure.  I hope she likes her cute orange toenails as much as I like my new Beatles cups.

This post is still not what it was in my head, but at least it's out.  Stupid lingering headache.  I'm not even going to tell you how much caffeine and meds I ingested yesterday just to get the dumb thing down to a dull roar.  It's still making my brain mushy, but then everything seems to be doing that these days.  Poor mushy

Thanks, BFF!

I got a delightful box in the mail today at the office:

It's a Beatles Birthday Bonanza from the BFF!  I love the mug, but I love love love the stripey socks!

The hubby thought the boys needed to be back in the studio, so I found my gifts like this when I went looking for him in our new podcast studio.  He's a dork.  But a cute dork.

And now you must suffer through yet another Beatles post.  Or, you know, stop reading.  You have free will. I'm actually quite impressed that I keep finding new (to me) shoes to share.

Wow, those are bright.

And these are not so much.  I still like them, they're just a lot more subdued than that first picture.

Again, I say...someone who can paint needs to make me some Beatles shoes!

I really like these.  I love that it's Yellow Submarine, but in black and white, which is the complete opposite of Yellow Submarine's craziness.

I want to like these, but their faces creep me out a little bit.

Sigh.  The PB needs these.  I even know where to find that fabric, as I made the Nephew a blanket when he was a baby!

See how well a boy can sleep on a Beatles blankie?

Ahhh...I love my BFF.  She is the bestest best friend ever.

Will You Be My Valentine?

Happy Valentine's Day!  Whether you are in a relationship or not, I hope your day is full of love.  I know today is supposed to be about romantic love, but I say to heck with that.  The Beatles said "all you need is love," and I think that means whatever kind is available.  Romantic love?  Yep.  Familial love?  Awesome.  Platonic love?  Cool.  God's love?  The best.  Plus, any excuse to eat chocolate is OK in my book.  Here are some heart shoes to show the love:

I'd like full pairs, but I'd take a life size version of this for Valentine's Day.

If these were removable they'd be awesome.  Basic black for every day, sparky hearts for special occasions!

Damn.  No.  Even the shoe itself is weird.

Again, these need to be removable.  Although I'm not likely to wear baby pink slingbacks, with or without shiny hearts.

Simple.  I like this one.

I want to like these, but they look a little cheesy.

Love these.  I need a pair of canvas tennies for every theme.  Buy all the themes!

In case that's not enough Valentine's Day shoes for you, feel free to browse years past:  2013, 2014, 2015.

3 Things:
  1. Breakfast in bed.   Thanks, hubby!
  2. Lazy day binge watching TV with the hubby and puppies.
  3. The Beatles:

I'm So Tired

Whenever I say the phrase, "I'm so tired," I automatically think of this song:

Today was long.  Not bad, just a lot of running around, working out, cleaning the office (holy buckets the floor in the back rooms was DISGUSTING), and now I am tired.  I should be sleeping.  Instead I'm blogging, because clearly I must share Beatles songs with you rather than going to bed.  Duh.  Also, Beatles shoes.  But only 2 pairs, because I really am rather tired and you're keeping me up.  Rude.

Love them both.  Want them both.  The end. Good night.

Beatles and the BFF

The birthday continues!  My awesome BFF sent me Beatles stuff to celebrate, and now I share it with you:

I shall now never drink out of anything else.

A new key chain! Yes I will take it out of the plastic, but I like the way it's packaged, so I'm leaving it for now.

Now yay for more Beatles shoes!.

I'd wear any of these, but the red ones are my favorite, followed by the colorful ones.  If only I had any artistic ability whatsoever I could make my own Beatles tennis shoes.

I love the Beatles.  I love the BFF.  I love Beatles BFF birthdays.  It's a love fest.
