Super Bowl

I actually watched the Super Bowl this year.  I've "watched" it before sort of, but never really paid attention.  Tonight I watched the whole thing and sort of kind of even understood it.  I watched it for Peyton Manning, really.  I like him, he seems like a nice guy, and I wanted him to win so maybe he will retire and stop beating the crap out of his body (the hubby watches and listens to a ton of ESPN so I now know way more about this stuff than I ever wanted to).  Hey, you have your reasons for watching, I have mine.

Both teams in today's game have blue as one of their colors, which I appreciate.  This was the case the last time I wrote about the Super Bowl as well (which, strangely enough also included the Broncos).  So here are some shoes in honor of both teams.

Blue Mary Janes!

I like the ones with more blue than orange (I know you're shocked), but these are sparkly, which is always fun.

These are much more practical for wearing to a game.  I like them.

And of course the baby fans need shoes, too!

The Panthers' mascot is a lot meaner looking than the Broncos'.

Oooh, I like these, at least the turquoise, sparkly side.

Again, very practical for the game.  I have to admit, I'm liking the canvas tennies better than the heels tonight.

For the babies.  Love the 2 shades of blue.

Thus endeth my football post.

My Least Favorite Season

The calendar tells me that it's technically still summer, but to me September means Fall.  Unfortunately the weather didn't get the memo as we've been right around triple temperatures the past few days.  Normally Fall is my favorite season.  I love the change in colors, the cooler weather, cool, crisp nights.  Now I live in California.  Land of no seasons.  This doesn't make Fall my least favorite season, though.  Nope.  My least favorite season occurs around the same time, but has nothing to do with the weather.  It's football season, ladies and gentlemen.  Thankfully this year I'm not playing fantasy football, so I don't have to pay as much attention, but the hubby looooves football and sadly I absorb more information than I want to by osmosis.  On the plus side, football season makes for some relaxing Sundays.  The puppies and I camp out on the couch with the hubby while he watches the games.  He watches, the puppies nap (sometimes me, too), and I can read or crochet or play on the internet, or work on the list or whatever.  So I guess it's not that bad.  Except that I hate ESPN.  Dear lord, could they just SHUT UP already???  Ahem.  Anyhoo, let's move on to some shoes.

Well these definitely stick with a theme.  I don't actually hate them.  I don't want to own them, but I think they would be kind of funny to wear to a super bowl party or something.

Because you know what's necessary in life?  High heeled cleats.  Eye roll...

So, my cousin sent me this shoe recently, but in just plain black.  Now, shoes with a spine for a heel are pretty odd, although not as odd as some shoes I've had on this site.  But football shoes with a spine for a heel make me sad.  These just make me think of all the injuries that happen in football.  Maybe that's the point?  I really have no idea what the point of these shoes would be.  I'm just making stuff up at this point.

These look more like clown shoes, but they were labeled as football shoes.  Either way these are just plain ugly.

So we clean our palates with some cuteness.

So cute!  Anyone need me to make them some football booties?  Because I need something to occupy me during games...

Super Bowl

So, I guess there's a football game or something today?  Seems like it's a big deal?  Actually, I can't get away with blissful ignorance since I've been with the hubby.  For 3 1/2 years now I've actually known (for the most part) who was playing and even who plays on which team.  It's frightening.  Probably a sign of the apocalypse or something.  So today is the super bowl.  Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos.  Just so you know, I am Switzerland.  I am neutral.  I am perfectly fine whichever team wins.  The hubby is happy, he likes the game.  I will talk about shoes and then I too will be happy.

Ooooh...blue!  And sparkly.  So 2 of my favorite things.  I'm not a huge fan of blue and orange together, though.  One or the other is fine, but together not so much.

Well those are...interesting.  That is one crazy pattern, though.

Thank goodness this is a wine bottle holder because otherwise that is one ugly shoe.

Wedges!  Hey, at least there are a variety of styles.  I appreciate variety.  My high school colors were black and orange and our mascot was a horse, so I could have worn these.  If I had been any kind of cool in high school.  Which I wasn't.

Awwww...these are adorable.  Little baby fans are so sweet.

Yay!  More blue.  I definitely appreciate that both teams have been kind enough to bring my favorite color to the super bowl this year.  Wasn't that nice?

I didn't find as much variety of styles for Seattle, but they win in color combo category.

Yay green!  I love the blue, but this way we have my favorite color, but I can invite Mom, the Seester, Double A, and SKD over to play, too.

Such fierce, adorable shoes!  Baby fans are the sweetest because they can't talk yet, which means they can't engage in the trash talk.  Remember...no matter who you are rooting for, all of the players (and yes, even the fans) are all children of God.  So be nice.  Be a baby fan and avoid the trash talk, OK?

Fantasy Football

The hubby loves football.  He played in college and the opening Sunday of the season (yesterday) is like Christmas morning for him.  He also loves fantasy football.  In fact, he's in 3 leagues this year.  He also decided I needed to be in a league.  It started out with him telling a friend of ours that I would be "happy" to join if they didn't have enough players.  I fervently prayed that there would be enough players, but alas, no such luck.  So I have a team.  I actually won my first game this week.  Next week I play the hubby.  Oy.  I really have no clue what I'm doing.  I don't like football, and have never really been able to figure it out no matter how much it is explained to me.  It's like my brain simply won't accept the information.  I went to one game in college only because the BFF said I had to.  I pay attention to peripherally to the Griz since they are my college team, but I couldn't tell you a single player currently on the team.

Anyway, the hubby likes The Cowboys.  This is kind of funny as I used to live in the Dallas area and have lots of friends who also like The Cowboys.  I have no team affiliations.  Today I decided to look up Cowboys shoes.

These actually aren't bad.  The one thing the team has going for them is their blue.  I might consider wearing these if the occasion arose.

Not so much these.  Still like the blue.  Even like the silver.  Way too spot on, though. I'm certain there is  time and place to wear these.  I just hope my feet don't need to attend.

Likewise these.  Take off the logo (yes, I know that defeats the purpose), and I would wear them.

Oh hell no.  They look insanely uncomfortable on top of being hideous.

I think I'll stick to wearing the hubby's Cowboys shirt as pjs.  He and the bear can rock the Cowboys gear.
