Lollipops

I had a massive headache today.  I've had headaches for most of my life, but for the past year or so I've been having really horrible menstrual migraines.  Pretty much nothing I take helps, which sucks.  Today was the lucky day for this month, and it was so bad it was making me nauseous (which happens frequently).  Thankfully it was a fairly slow day in the office so I was able to come home and sleep for awhile.  Stupid thing is still hanging in there, but it isn't bad if I don't move my head too much or too fast.  At least the nausea has subsided.  If anyone has any suggestions for this type of headache please share, because nothing I've tried so far has worked.

On a happy coincidence, today was Nap Day, so I celebrated accordingly for once!  It was also National Lollipop Day, which I did not celebrate, but which gave me the idea for shoes for tonight.

I love these!  I think the line is called lollipop, so it still fits even though the shoes have no actual lollipops on them.  Although maybe you can imagine it in an abstract sort of way?  PLUS, I actually know someone who owns this last pair!  See

And one pair with actual lollipops.  Because baby shoes are always appropriate.

Also, I have now had this song stuck in my head while writing this post. Love it.

Me and my headache are going to bed now, thankyouverymuch.

Picnics

Saturday was something to do with picnics, and I went off in search of shoes for a post.  But then the hubby and I had our X-Men date night and I did that post instead.  Yesterday was Father's Day, so I had the obvious post topic there, which means I'm getting to picnics a couple of days later than whatever holiday it was over the weekend.  But picnics can be any day, really, so better late than never.  Not that I went on an actual picnic today, but at least there are shoes.

This is kind of weird, and and yet I like it. Why do picnics mean plaid, though?

See?  More plaid?  I think I'd prefer a different, non-polka dotted bow, but the wedge is a good, practical choice if you need/want to go tromping over possibly uneven ground in heels.

Not practical in the least, but soooooo cute.

So, checked picnic blanket or table cloth and ants, but what are the yellow laces?  Sometimes when I glance at the picture they look like french fries.  French fries aren't my first choice for picnic food, but sure, why not?

I'm 2 days late and a whole picnic short, but at least there were some interesting shoes.

First Day of April

So today was April Fool's Day. Did you fall for any tricks?  I actually had the opposite.  I had a friend send an email about a new job, which is awesome because she's been miserable at her current one for a long time.  I really wanted it to be true, but, I had to check to make sure she wasn't pulling a prank.  It was true!  Yay!  She said she forgot it was even April Fools, which I frequently do as well.

I was wandering around Kohl's tonight and found a shoe that seemed like it was made especially for today:

OK, they aren't that bad.  I love bright colors, and these are fun in that way, they're just too much.  Maybe they look awesome on someone who isn't me.  Believe me, the picture didn't capture the crazy  as well as I hoped.

In the spirit of the day, SKD posted a video to my Facebook wall about the new trend in shoes, the selfie shoe!

First, those shoes would be super cute if they didn't have the crazy, phone-holding toes.  Second, not many people can life their leg that high?  And third, are you using a self timer?  How would you hit the button to take the picture?  Yes, I know, I probably thought way too much about a silly prank, but I can't help it, it's just how my brain works.

These 4 are vintage shoes that were labeled as "April Fools Day Sale."  I didn't figure we needed to have the whole post being sill shoes.  I love this last pair, and the pansy shoes are crazy bright, but I had to post them for my mama.  I like the blue ones, and I even like the top pair in a weird kind of way.  Even if they are stupid slingbacks.

April Fools Day is also, as I've mentioned before, my brother's birthday.  I'm not posting a shoe picture in honor of this occasion this year, because I'd rather post this:

Awwww...baby big brother!  He looks concerned about something.  Probably that he hadn't eaten in 5 minutes or so.  Apparently he ate all the darn time.  It's funny how I can totally see the 44 year old man he's become in this tiny baby face.  Happy Birthday!

Hope you had an uneventful day, unless you like pranks, and then I hope you had a totally eventful day!

Useless Info

Did you know that today is National Artichoke Day?  Yeah, neither did I.  This is the joy of the internet:  it is a never ending fount of useless and ridiculous knowledge.  Did you know there are artichoke shoes?  It shouldn't surprise any of us considering some of the shoes I've found for this silly blog.  So here you go:

Shoes for a little hippy vegetarian baby.

Why?  And who would wear them?

And yet somehow they're still better than this.

This was one of about 5 pairs of artichoke fleep flops I found.  Why would this be?  What is it about artichokes and fleep flops?

I love these!  I could do without the bobbly parts, but love the color and pattern.

Are you a fan of artichokes?  I'm not completely sure what the big deal is. They seem like WAY too much work for not a lot of reward.  But then, they have their own day, and I do not, so what do I know?
