Larger than Life

My cousin sent me these picture from Las Vegas this past week:

Look at her cute hubby and that fabulously crazy casino carpet!  And the giant shoe, of course.  How crazy is that?

No hubby or carpet in this picture, but the shoe is pretty fun.  I went looking for other shoes and came across this article about these 2 shoes and how popular they are as a photo op.

The rest of the pictures aren't in Vegas, but are still giant.  I like this one.  Very shiny!

A giant shoe with lights.  That's fun and also weird.

Dang.  No.  Looks like it also has lights?

These 2 scare me a little bit.

Thanks to the cousin for the pictures and the inspiration!  In California news, we're having lovely rain today.  It's a little muggy, but quite delightful.

Shoe Art

Once again I have to tell you that I have awesome friends and family.  I kept forgetting to take a picture of this, but it arrived in the mail on Monday from my auntie.  She said she found it on the streets of NYC and thought of me.

I love the shoe.  I have no idea why that man is trying to chop it down with a chainsaw.  OK, that's not entirely true.  I could hazard some guesses, but who knows exactly what the artist intended?  I just know it's a cool shoe and that I have a very cool auntie who spoils me.

This I've actually had for a year and a half.  Our preschool director gave it to me for one of my bridal showers, and I really love it.  I also just noticed that you can see me in the reflection of the glass.  Anyway,  I love the shoes, the clutch, the hatbox.  You know where I should put these?

In this amazing shoe room!  Surely the hubby wants me to have one, and my dad wants to come here and build it.  Right?  My cousin sent me this picture.  See?  Another awesome relative!

All in the Fam

So, my family is awesome.  I know I'm completely biased, but if you met them, you would be forced to agree that they are awesome.  The Bean told mom the other day that she wants to "be a shoe girl like Auntie."  This was after trying on 5 and 6 inch heels and strutting around Target in them.  I'm both proud and a little frightened.  She ended up buying some fur lined "practical" boots, while Double A ended up with these:

Mom said these have a cute wedge heel that's about an inch and a half.  Double A might not have my love of heels, but these shoes are for her upcoming play this weekend, and as I was also in drama in Jr. High and High School, of course I've decided she takes after me.  And she still has cute taste in shoes.

The brother posted this on my facebook page today:

If I haven't posted these before, I've posted something similar, and I'll say the same thing:  These are clearly for winter, where it is cold.  What in the heck are you doing wearing that much heel in the snow??!!  Hey, brother, I think you should buy these and rock them with your kilt...

The boots are a little crazy, but my 2nd cousin sent me shoes that blew right past crazy:

Why why why are these in existence?  Who would ever wear them?  I should have written this post earlier, because now I'm pretty sure these are going to give me nightmares...
