Hodge Podge

Today was a lovely and interesting day. Lovely because it was 75° and we ate lunch outside. Interesting because I ate steak for the first time without gagging (not sure how the hubby accomplished that), and because we went to a bbq with some friends tonight and I was totally relaxed and social the whole time. Not once did I have to find a quiet spot and be myself for a minute. These things are probably signs of the apocalypse, so don't say I didn't warn you. The puppies also went to the bbq with us. It was their first away from home social event and I can't believe how well they did. All in all a good day.

Since I was actually busy being social and eating red meat, I'm going to let the Pinterest Friend be in charge of the shoes tonight.

Didn't she find a fun and eclectic assortment for us? She's awesome.

Actually, only the first 4 are from the PF. The last one, while from Pinterest, is from a friend from seminary who now lives in New Jersey. She's also awesome, and high on my list of people I would like to be like when I grow up.

We'll, I've already sprung my clocks ahead and now it's time to snooze. Good night!

DIY

I was on Pinterest a little bit ago and decided to type in "DIY shoes," fully expecting to be horrified. I was actually pleasantly surprised. Yes, there were some shoes that looked like preschool arts crafts for horribly awry, but I'm going to show you the cute ones.

I could never actually make this look good, but I like the result.

Again, wouldn't be able to make anything straight or even, but I could see the nieces in these in various colors.

Squeee! I love these. Sorry, Mom...just look away or scroll by really fast.

This is puff paint, so it would last approximately 5 minutes, but it's still fun. I love the colors.

Clearly I'm drawn (ha! See what I did there?) to the canvas tennies tonight, but they're so fun. Those of you out there who are craftier than I should try some of these, or do your own design. Oh! And then send me a pair. I wear a size 7...

Down the Pinterest Rabbit Hole

I've been neglecting the recent contributions of the Pinterest Friend, so let's take a look, shall we?

Blue. Polka dots. Ankle straps. Does the PF know me or what?

She was horrified enough by these until she found an entire board filled with them, and then she was even more traumatized. I'm sparing you the whole board because I don't want you to need therapy.

Um...it's a good way to use the doilies around your house...?

I love these in blue! I have them in coral!

See?

Speaking of coral, this is the perfect segue into the party where I got excited about wedges and went searching for more on Pinterest.

I want to like these. I like the colors and the straps, but they just aren't quite right.

Sigh. Love.

Love the color, love the straps, sad about the slingback.

I really like these, but I'm not sure I could pull them off. The fabric reminds me of an outfit I had in junior high. It was shorts, a tank top, and a jacket. My sister had one in different fabric. We were awesome and wore them for Easter.

Enough shoes for the night. I now have to be mean and make the puppies wake up and go outside.

Raaaaiiiiin!

I'm listening to the wonderful rain right now, and it's lovely.  It has rained all day, and I have enjoyed every minute of it, especially since we so desperately need it right now.  And rain means rainbows, right?  OK, not right now because it's dark.  Geez, you're so literal.  I was just trying for a segue into the fact that the PF recently sent me a series of rainbow shoes.  I should actually write "recently" as she sent them 16 days ago.  This is what happens when I don't post regularly!  Although I do now have a backlog of ideas that I can work my way shoes.  But back to rainbows.  I did a post of rainbow shoes a while ago, but now we have a whole new selection to ogle:

Ohmygoshcute.  I think this might be the same yarn I also made into baby shoes fairly recently, but those pale in comparison to these.  Gaaaah...perfectionist button pushed!

PF said something about the 90s with these.  Absolutely.  The decade that brought us giant, clunky, spongy heels.

Barbie shoes!  I have no idea who would think of something like this, or take the time to do it, but it's definitely different and interesting.  Probably art of some kind.  This is what Pinterest is for:  for people to make random things and post them so that others of us can then randomly post their random posts!

Stripey.  T-strap.  Rainbow.  Should be perfect, right?  It's just a little off for me.  Maybe it's the white stripes (not the band)?  The lack of green, purple, and indigo?  Or the clunky heel?  Not sure.

These were one of my choices for the last post as well.  Great minds think alike!

Oh.  Wow. These are crazy.  It's like a parrot and a shoe had a baby.  Is it weird that I kind of like them?

No.  First off, platform, peep toe booties.  No.  Plus, I'm pretty sure the bedazzler threw up.

Same clunky heel as above, but this time I love them. PF said they reminded her of Rainbow Bright.  I can totally see that.  I never got into Rainbow Bright as a kid, but the shoe version might convert me.

Shoe color wheel!  Pretty, and it can help you determine which colors each shoe will go with!

This last one is hilarious.  It's like the saying:  Don't like the weather?  Wait 5 minutes and it will change.  I would totally wear these as part of some kind of costume.

Good night, all. The hubby and I are wild and crazy tonight.  We went to bed at 8:00.  Hubby has been snoozing for about an hour, and I'm about to follow.  Mom said after last night's post that I'm not old, yet, but this might prove her wrong.

Happy Anniversary!!

I can hardly believe it, but 1 year ago today I wrote my first post for this blog.  And now here we are, 365 days and 356 posts (357 counting this one) later.  The calendar cooperated with some really cute shoes:

I have no idea what color these are.  In some lights they look blue and in others they look purple.  Here they are blue, almost black.  But, whatever color, they are definitely festive and celebratory for the anniversary!

The first anniversary is paper, so here are some paper shoes to continue the celebration:

Fun!  Not for wearing, but shoes that look like origami are definitely cute decorations of some sort.

Oooooh....pretty.  I like them.  I have no idea really why you would make paper shoes, but I'm glad someone did so I could put them in this post!  And there are lots more if you want to go check them out.

Ooookay...it's also the 6th day of Christmas!

Which means 6 geese a-laying.  The Pinterest friend sent me this:

Man, I don't get this.  Why does this goose have shoes?  Soooo many questions.

And yes, you've already seen these this year, but it's the 12 days of Christmas, and I'm wearing all of my Christmas socks.  Yay snowmen!  And Christmas!  And blogiversaries!

Pinterest

I'm feeling kind of blah tonight.  Sorry for the TMI, but I it's hormones.  I'm tired and moody and I kind of want to kick the hubby.  Not his fault.  Definitely hormones.  I decided to go on Pinterest and see what they had for shoes.  I've been on Pinterest for a few months now and I know I'm not using it as fully as I could.  I'll go poke around for awhile, but it gets overwhelming pretty quickly, at least for me.  So tonight I searched for shoes, and it might be because I am feeling blah, but I expected more.  There were lots of pictures, but not many jumped out at me, whether awesome, crazy, or just plain ugly.  I did find a few:

Love.  Want.

Love the color.  Like the concept, but I'm not sure this shoe is pulling off what it's going for.  They fall somewhat short for me.

Also love.  Also want.  Polka dots AND stripes!  How fun is that?

Just a little wisdom for your night.  Hope you have plenty of both, and that you are feeling anything but blah!
