Puppies

It's National Puppy Day!  I miss these tiny little bitties.

I don't miss them pooping on the floor or throwing up every time they got in the car, but I miss those little faces.  I love my "big" puppies, too, though.  They are currently snuggled up next to me and the hubby as I type.  They are so very happy their daddy is home.

And now puppy shoes!

They're all kind of similar and all adorable.  The PB could have a different pair of puppy shoes for every day of the week!

Memory Lane: 2013. 2014 (we took the puppies on adventure although I don't think I realized it was National Puppy Day).

3 Things:
  1. The hubby is home!
  2. I love my puppies.  Never thought I'd be a dog person, but I have totally become one.
  3. I chopped 11 inches off my hair yesterday.  I loooooove it, and will donate hair for the 4th time.  I even updated my bitmoji to reflect the new do:

Yep.  Looks *just* like me.

Ooooold

Today is As Young As You Feel Day.  Go to the website, it's totally made up, but there you have it.  Today I feel like about 967 years old.  I'm Old Testament old.  Moving is stressful, y'all.  Moving when your luck sucks like mine does lately is even more stressful.  I'll spare you the details, but I'm surprised I haven't gone completely gray in the last week.  Add to that a deeply bruised purple sausage toe and the return of the arthritis in my neck (which meant I slept like crap last night because no matter what position I was in my right hand kept going numb), and I am definitely feeling old and worn out.  So for the heck of it I googled "old lady shoes."  How pejorative is that phrase?  Of course there were some of what you would expect with orthopedic shoes, etc., but here are a few for the sassy old ladies out there.

Along with orthopedic options, these are actually what I picture in terms of old lady shoes.  The funny thing is that they're in style now as funky, retro, "young" people shoes.   They're kind of boring in basic black, but I've seen variations that are quite cute.

Apparently old lady shoes means a low heel?  Why can't young people wear a low heel if they darn well feel like it?  This is very pretty.

Oooh...so are these!

If the heel was slightly different (not higher, just a little smaller so it didn't stick out on the sides) I would like this a lot more.

T-strap!  Very springy and Eastery.

These look comfy.  They're kind of cute and kind of not.  I feel differently every time I look at them.

Oh well, at least I know I can still get cute shoes even when I'm 967.

Memory Lane: 2013. 2014

3 Things:
  1. A friend called me from out of the blue yesterday and it was so lovely to hear her voice.
  2. Another friend made a comment on Facebook today that was very simple, but it made me feel all warm and fuzzy and loved.
  3. Actually, several friends made warm and fuzzy and loved comments today.  Yay!

Rain

It's raining.  Normally this makes me happy, and on one had it still does because we need the moisture.  On the other hand, I have a backyard of yard stuff, including cushions, getting wet after the movers dumped everything and left.  I was so focused yesterday on the garage I didn't even think about the backyard.  This Bitmoji pretty well sums up my attitude toward the rain today:

Only my Bitmoji self can pull of skinny pants and booties.

Anyway, in honor of the rain, the PF sent me some fun rain boots!

OK, I know these aren't rain boots.  They're adorable baby cowboy boots!  But hopefully not steel-toed.  Oh dear, I might be too klutzy for babies.  What if they actually need steel-toe baby shoes (plus a helmet and lots and lots of bubble wrap) to protect them from mommy?

These will definitely brighten up a gloomy day. Also appropriate as yesterday was the first day of Spring.

Blue, of course, because she knows her audience.  I like these.  I would wear them.  Again, I must ask, don't rain boots just make your feet sweat?  Anyone out there wear them and want to way in on this extremely pressing question?

Horsey boots!

Kind of a boring color, but you know I love a good polka dot.  And I think I see some black ones with multi-colored polka dots in the picture above?

I guess I won't complain too much about the rain today as the hubby and the parents have both had snow in the past few days.

Memory Lane:  2013 (from yesterday in case you were curious). 2013. 2014.

3 Things:

  1. Rain.  It's a blessing, even when I'm dumb and don't put stuff away properly.
  2. Service people who come on time.  I really hate those 4 hour windows you normally get, but today I had a window 7:30-8am window for the internet guy and he was there by 8:10.  Yes, that's technically late, but very timely compared to how those appointments usually go.  He was also very nice, very efficient, and done by around 9:00.
    1. Also a very nice lady I spoke with on the phone about ordering some stuff for the office.  She was so helpful when I was so confused.  She then said the hubby should give me 2 dozen roses for being the wife of the year.  No wonder I liked her!
  3. Internet at the new house!  It was only 2 days without it, but still, I'm happy I didn't have to wait longer.

Poor Barbie

Between the purple sausage toe and unpacking I didn't leave the house today. Since we don't yet have Internet I'm writing this on my phone, which is a pain, so this will be short (I can't guarantee sweet).

Last night I found this barbie boot in the backyard:

There's a barbie somewhere with only one black boot! She probably has an outfit that is now ruined.

On a happier note, Double A and the Bean got new Converse, and they both got blue! Sniff, sniff...I'm such a proud auntie.

And soon I and the purple sausage toe shall go to bed.

No memory lane tonight because my phone is being difficult. I think it was only 2013 anyway.

3 Things
  1. I got a ton done today, despite the toe and totally over sleeping.
  2. I overslept! It was lovely.
  3. It's Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. I have major guilt about my lack of spiritual relationship, but I'm putting it on the list anyway, because Holy Week is a beautiful part of the church year.

This Little Piggie Cried

The movers came today. Par for the course of our recent life things did not go smoothly. I'd tell you all about it but I'm too frickin tired. I'll just give you the one piece where I was trying to be helpful and dropped a log on my pinkie toe. I'm not positive it's broken but I also wouldn't be surprised. A friend suggested I need a pair of these:

Steel toe cowgirl boots! They're cute AND practical! My poor toe is cynically wishing I could have thought of this BEFORE dropping the log. (And for any camp friends reading this, yes I was wearing closed toe shoes).

Memory lane: 20132014.

3 Things
  1. Moving day is over! Thank God/gods/goddesses/goodness.
  2. My toe might not be broken.
  3. Moving day is over. I don't care if this is cheating, it warrants two spots on the list.

Las Vegas

My entire body hurts.  My hands and feet are swollen, I have blisters, I'm covered in bruises, and I'm dehydrated despite drinking a ton.  I guess moving must be going well.  Just like last night I'm exhausted, but thankfully a friend from St. Someone's was window shopping shoes in Las Vegas and sent me pictures.  Isn't that sweet and thoughtful?  And excellent timing as now I can show you those shoes and not have to find something in my befuddled state.  Oh, and speaking of timing, the funny thing is that this same woman sent me pictures on March 18 2 years ago.  It's a trend!

Don't these all seem just perfect for Las Vegas and all of its excess?

Memory Lane: 2013. 2014.

3 Things:

  1. More progress.  I will be soooo happy when this is all done.
  2. Friends who send me shoes, even when they don't realize their timing is perfect.
  3. Snuggle puppies  Poor babies are freaked out with all of the craziness, so they're extra needy and extra snuggly

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I wore a green shirt today, wore my shamrock socks, and drank out of my shamrock mug.  I also spent the day packing and moving, so I'm exhausted.  Here are some St. Patrick's Day shoes from Zazzle:

And a silly cartoon!

And Pedro!

Memory Lane: 2013. 2014. 2015.

3 Things:
  1. SKD had come 2 nights in a row to help me with the packing and moving.  She has a giant suburban, so we can haul way more stuff than I can in my car.
  2. I took the hubby's beloved, limited edition Mustang Mach 1 to the new house tonight and nothing happened to his baby.  Thank the car gods.
  3. Progress, even though it doesn't look like I've done a darn thing.  Even though the house looks like it has been hit by a tornado or a swarm of drunk toddlers.
