Animal Crackers, Yum!

Today is National Animal Crackers Day.  Although frankly, animal crackers day could be every day because they are yummy.  I love the frosted kind, the kind in the circus box, the kind that comes in the giant plastic bear container.  Today I celebrated with the frosted kind:

I mean, come on: frosting AND sprinkles?  What's not to love?  Although half the time I have no idea what the animals are supposed to be, but that's a minor consideration.

I couldn't find any shoes specifically dealing with animal crackers, and I recently did a zoo post (animal crackers are usually zoo or circus themed), so I just found animal shoes I thought were adorable.  As such, I'm going to leave the comments to you because all of mine would be some variation of awww...so cute!

I love them all.  They are adorable.

If you looked back at the zoo post you'll notice a similarity in theme with this one beyond just animal shoes, and that is EAT ALL THE THINGS!  I don't know what is going on with me lately, but I am hungry all the fricking time.  I'm like a bottomless pit with a tapeworm who also has a bottomless pit.  I don't know if it's stress or hormones, or the planetary alignment or what, but dang.  Hence the purchasing and eating of frosted animal crackers.  Sigh.  My butt is going to be huge if I keep this up.

Moving on.

Zoooooo

I had really good intentions on today in terms of eating healthy.  I did pretty well for awhile and then it was like a switch was flipped and I was EAT ALL THE THINGS!!!!  Sigh.  Not the worst thing in the world, and I didn't eat things that were really awful, I just felt like a bottomless pit.  It was crazy.

On a totally different note, today is Dog Farting Awareness Day.  Most of the comments on my Facebook post were some variation of "we are VERY aware of dog farts at our house!"  It cracks me up that there's a day for this.  It's also Dog Fighting Awareness Day, so I'm wondering if it's related, and if it's a lighter way to bring up dog-related issues.  As I said on this day last year, I will not be incorporating this day into the shoes for tonight's post.

Instead, we will celebrate Zoo Lover's Day!  I have been to very few zoos in my life, but zoo shoes seem rather appealing, so here we go:

Lellie Kelly shoes always seem really fun and really girly.  These are cute and very zoo-centric.

A shoe zoo!

These are shoes representing a specific zoo, but I can't remember which and can't read what it says except that the zoo starts with B.  Panda shoes are always cute, though.

Soooo cute.  They're for kids, but I'd wear them.  If they had a hippo instead of an elephant (not that there's anything wrong with elephants) I could wear them while singing the Hippo Song!

These are my favorite.  So bright and colorful and fun.  The PB could have these for the zoo, or when we read Noah's Ark, or when we go on safari.  You know, like you do with a baby.

I'm going to go to bed now in an attempt to not eat anything else.

The Only Cats That Don't Make Me Sneeze

SKD and I have tendency to send each other pictures of our snuggly pets.  I send her pictures of the puppies...

...and she sends me pictures of her kitties:

She also has a Chihuahua (mixed with something else) but the snuggly pictures are usually of the cats.  The hubby loathes cats.  I don't dislike cats, actually thing they're pretty cute, but they are the thing I am allergic to the most.  When I had the allergy scratch test done the cat scratch (heehee) turned into a welt that was ginormous.  But hopefully kitty shoes won't make me sneeze.

For some reason sometimes when I glance at these I think they are elephants.  So maybe not the best cat shoes int he world.

A peep toe wedge booty with cats.   That's just a little too much for me.

These scare me.  Why does that cat want to eat my liver?

Now these I think are cute.  Simple and basic.  I like 'em.

I admit it.  I love these.  I want them for Halloween.  And other days.

No.  These make me think of a crazy cat lady.

Speaking of crazy...

Hmmmm...if only I could trick the hubby into wearing these to work...

Adorable.  I would wear these on all of the days.

There are a ton of cat shoes out there.  I might have to do another post on them one of these days.  But there are no snuggling cat shoes that I could find.  More's the pity.  Now if you'll excuse me I have to go get my normally adorable and snuggly puppies to stop attempting to to rip each other's throats out.  It's like the Nature Channel in here right now.

Their Logic is Not Like Our Earth Logic

Thankfully the hubby's car has been fixed, but not without some crazy drama.  It turns out that the battery is in the trunk.  OK, good to know.  So the hubby took the battery out and took it to be tested.  Sure enough, it was bad, so he bought a new one.  He came home and tried to open the lock.  No luck.  Of course, without a battery, the power button and key fob didn't work, but we couldn't even open it WITH THE KEY!  How does this make sense?  So off I went to Google where I found the solution of opening the hood (thankfully we could still pop that), opening a specific compartment, hooking the positive jumper cable to the bolt in the compartment and the battery, and grounding the negative cable on the frame of the car.  Thank goodness it worked, and thank goodness the new battery fixed the problem.  Seriously, though, how is this sensible?  So...what, you're just not supposed to close the trunk once you take the battery out?  Ever?  One guy online said he had to order his battery.  Apparently he was supposed to leave his trunk open for several days?  I'm glad the problem is fixed, but it was all a little ridiculous.  Speaking of ridiculous, check out these shoes:

Loafers had a baby with a diorama?

Prom corsages had a baby with stripper shoes?

I don't even know what was having babies here.

Clown shoes had a baby with Duplos and day-glow patent leather?

Go home, shoes.  You're drunk.

Sleep and No Sleep

My sleep schedule is all jacked up lately.  I don't know why, although there could be lots of reasons ranging from antibiotics to hormones to anxiety.  The night before last I didn't get to sleep until almost 5 in the morning.  I tried everything I could think of and nothing helped.  Last night I was then exhausted but still had trouble falling asleep.  I then forgot to set an alarm and didn't wake up until 10 this morning.  Sheesh.  Good thing I have a job with fairly flexible hours.  So today I thought I would look up shoes with a sleep theme, besides the obvious choice of slippers.  I was honestly expecting to find the Sleepy version of the Grumpy shoes I posted awhile back, but I couldn't find any.  I didn't even find the pair pictured in the post I linked to.  So no Sleepy shoes, but I did find a couple of cute options:

I think they are both adorable.  Now if only they could help me get my sleep back on track, I would be very very happy.
