Eiffel Tower

Today is the 127th anniversary of the opening of the Eiffel Tower.  It was built in 1889 as the entrance to the World's Fair.  I've mentioned before that The Bean loves the Eiffel Tower and really really really wants to go to Paris.  Maybe she can wear some of these shoes when she finally gets there:

OK, she can't wear these first two as they are art and not real shoes.  But they're still fun.  And they wouldn't be comfortable, so they're better as art.

Much better for being touristy.  And there's a lot of blue, so you know I appreciate that.

Arty in a different way.  I think these are really pretty.

Interesting.  Not my favorite, but I like the concept.  And that they are the colors of France's flag.

Simple but sweet.

Love the colors.  I keep thinking the trees on the right shoe are camels, though.  What is wrong with me?

These are my favorite.  So cute.  Plus, they go with today also being National Crayola Crayon Day.

I've never been to Paris, but I hope to go someday.  Maybe if she's extra nice to her auntie I will take The Bean.

Memory Lane: 2013. 2015 (look, I had some follow-through from last year's post!).

I Need Some Crayons

I did a coloring post on this day 3 years ago, and it inspired me to go look for more shoe-themed coloring pages.

I was going to write that I would color this blue, but then I realized that I would probably color them all blue.

I might not even color the striped ones.  I really like the one in the middle with the daisies, and the back pair looks like a dalmatian.

Hmmm...black and white?  Black and red?

OK, I wouldn't make this blue animal print.  See?  I can choose other colors occasionally.

Fun!  I like all the details, they would be fun to color.

Why does this boot seem kind of skanky to me?

I had to include this one for The Bean. It's WAY too tall, though.  Ouch.  Thankfully it's only a drawing.

This one is also really tall.  The extra details mean I could do this one in black, white, and red, which is one of my favorite combinations for polka dot shoes.

How would you color all of these shoes?

Memory lane is short tonight as I already did 2013 and I didn't post in 2015.

3 Things:
  1. We talk to both sets of parents every Sunday, which always makes me happy
  2. I went to Target today to renew my antidepressant prescription.  I'm very grateful for my antidepressants, and being able to get them.
  3. I might love Target a little too much, but I thoroughly enjoy wandering around, even when I don't have money to shop.

Oooh La La

After finding the Eiffel Tower/mustache shoes, I decided to go searching for more Paris themed shoes.  I've never been there, but it's on my list of places to go someday.  In the meantime, I can look at shoes.

Is that the Arc de Triomphe?  I think it might be, which is awesome, because it makes me think of the movie French Kiss.  And then I giggle.

The Eiffel Tower is a definite theme.  I suppose it's the obvious choice.  I really like the black and white drawings on both these shoes and the one above.

That particular Eiffel Tower seems to have some issues. But I think Fancy Nancy should definitely have a pair of these!

Cute.  I don't have much more to say about this pair.

These crack me up.  They actually aren't terrible, but they are a little odd.

They actually look cuter on.  But still funny.  Not sure what the scenario would be where I would wear them, though.

Oooh la la.   Definitely cheaper than a trip to Paris!

Saturday

So, it's Saturday and we ran a lot of errands.  Pretty much every Saturday the hubby announces we need to go somewhere.  4-8 hours later, we usually return.  I still haven't figured out why running errands with him takes so long.  No, wait, I do know part of it:  he constantly thinks of other things we should do while we're out.  I think we're about to go home and he's come up with 57 other things we can do.  Oh well.  I guess we get a lot accomplished?

Changing subject (sort of), you know how I love to just type stuff in to the search engine and see what pops up.  So today's phrase was "Saturday shoes."  Because...well...it's Saturday.  I never said I was terribly original with these searches.  Although maybe I should be.  Maybe one day I'll just type in something like "tootsie roll rainbow shoes" or "chihuahua unicorn shoes."  In the meantime, back to Saturday:

They're shoes that say Saturdays on them.  I don't know why, and I was too lazy to look it up.  I like the red, though.

High tops!  I like these even more.

And they come in blue!  Hopefully also in high tops, because these aren't doing much for me, despite my wearing of many, many canvas shoes back in the day.

These are odd.  And I have no idea what they have to do with Saturday, but I actually kind of like them.  Does that make me odd?  Wait, don't answer that.

Again, no idea on the Saturday reference, but I love the Eiffel Tower.  I don't hate the mustache.  I like that the 2 green polka dots above make it look like a face, but really, what IS the fascination with all things mustache these days?

You probably won't be surprised to find that these are Irregular Choice.  If they had a different heel, I would actually like them.

It's only Saturday for another 9 minutes or so, so I guess I should post this and go to sleep.
