Red

Yesterday I was feeling patriotic about the Olympics and decided to highlight some red, white, and blue shoes.  I found some fun ones (and of course some rather frightening ones).  Today I decided to keep up the streak, but break it down into the individual colors.  Tonight was start with red.  Red shoes are awesome.  I have 5 pairs of red shoes (off the top of my head).  I wear a lot of black in my professional life, so red is a nice pop of color to go with the dreary black.

Of course there needs to be some sparkle . I like the added black and white details.  And this is sparkle that is properly deployed.

More sparkle.  And Mary Janes!  I also like the shape of the heel, there is just a slight curve to it, which gives the shoes some visual interest.

These are also Mary Janes, and I want to like them, but the bows are just too much.  They are overwhelming on these shoes.

Oooooh, shiny!  Normally I'm not a huge fan of square toed shoes, but I really like these.  The fact that they are patent leather doesn't hurt.

I want  to like these.  I think it's the peep toe that's throwing them off for me.  I love the texture, and the ribbon, even the shiny heel.  Yep, it's the peep toe.  Doesn't work for me.

I just like this picture.  I would (and have) totally take one of these, especially if I was in a group of people all wearing red shoes.  From what I can see, I like all of these.

These are also sparkly, and I love the pattern.  I might be looking at more flats in my near future, and these would definitely make the cut.

Red boots are a must.  I love these.  Love the button, love the shiny, love the heel height.

So yay red!  Up tomorrow...white.  Hmmmm....could be really boring.

More Olympics

We continue to watch all of the Olympics that we have recorded on the DVR, which means that we are somewhere in the middle of yesterday.  Which is weird and confusing, but oh well.  We finished the figure skating team event tonight, and it was a lot of fun if it wasn't terribly surprising as to how the teams finished.  We had to take a break from the marathon this afternoon as I attempted to sleep off the headache from hell (it didn't help).  I decided to go patriotic tonight and look for Red, White, and Blue shoes to cheer on the Americans (although, lots of flags include those colors).

These scare me.  A lot.  Give them some sparkle and they wouldn't be out of place on a 70s glam rocker. I don't think my patriotism extends this far.

These are boring, but for me they are frankly a bit of fresh air after the first pair.

As much as I love heels, these are more my style when it comes to flag shoes.

Not bad.  Lots of blue suede is always a good start in my book.

Wow.  No.  But I can't quite put my finger on why, exactly.  They're just a little too much.  Too on the nose, maybe?

I couldn't leave you without a little sparkle  OK, this is a lot of sparkle.  The sparkle threw up on these shoes.  It's like someone left the shoes some glue, and a bunch of glitter with a room full of preschoolers.

Happy Olympics-ing, everyone!

Olympics

The hubby and I spent part of today watching the Olympics that we have saved on the DVR.  I love the ice skating, he likes to watch speed skating skiing events.  I do enjoy the Olympics, although it's rough because I just want everyone to win.  I always feel so bad for the ones who come so close only to lose, or get injured or whatever.  I would not make a good Olympic athlete as I would just cry all of the time.  Or I'd feel guilty if I won and someone else was sad.  Yeah, not a good competitor.  I decided to look and see what I could find for shoes in the Olympic category.  I didn't find much today, but I didn't look too hard, either.  Maybe I'll see if I can find more for a different post.

The hubby actually spotted these.  I'm not sure I would wear these, but as far as a theme goes, I really like them.  I like the sparkly ones better than the others, which is both surprising and not.  Surprising that I like the plain over the color, but not surprising that I like the sparkly.  Good job, hubby!

These came up in the search, but I'm not sure they're actually Olympic shoes?  Maybe.  The colors seem right.  And I like them, so I included them.  I love the stripes against the black.

These were also the hubby's pick.  Very patriotic!

These are kind of plain.  They're my least favorite of the group, but I'm not mad at them or anything.

What are your favorite events at the Olympics?  Do you like the summer or winter better?
