Pumpkins

It's almost Halloween, so that means it's time for some pumpkin shoes!

I really want the hubby to wear these for Halloween.  He's such a spoilsport.

Pumpkin shoes for the Pumpkin Seed?

I would totally wear these if the hubby would wear the first pair.  Heck, I'd wear the first pair and be twins with him if I thought I could get him to go along with it.

These are rather strange.  And the frighten me a bit.  They pumpkins look more red than orange, which make me think  blood.

I would also wear these if they came in my size.

I think I might have posted this once before, but I still think it's an adorable picture, and it gives me the opportunity to post this one:

The one time in my life I've ever drawn something freehand and been 99% pleased with how it turned out.  And it's a fake pumpkin so I'm enjoying it again this year.

OK, I realize I titled the post "pumpkins" and then posted most Jack-o-Lanterns, but they're made of pumpkins, right?  Or maybe I should change the title of the post, but I'm too lazy.

Heehee

After last night's post my mom and a friend from Oregon both suggested that the witch cups should go together, one on top of the other:

Of course it would be completely impractical to actually use, but it totally cracks me up. Poor witch has some sad proportions and no torso. She reminds me of the people I used to draw as a kid whose arms and legs came directly out of their heads. Apparently torsos have been unimportant my whole life...

I knew that you really needed/wanted to read this, so I stayed up extra late just to post it. Because I'm selfless like that. But now I must sleep so I can wake up and drink coffee from a witch.

Mishmash

I don't know if this post is literally a mishmash because it's not completely random, but the theme is fairly loose.  I'll start with a fact that is probably going to make me even weirder in your eyes, but oh well.  Soooo, I have a different coffee cup for every month.  Yes.  A different cup.  Every month.  Most often it ties in with the theme I've decorated our mantel with.  October, obviously is Halloween, so I've had this cute cup for a couple of years:

She's goofy and adorable, and I love her.  And then I saw this:

I shouldn't have bought it.  I already had my cute little witch cup.  But I caved.  It's just too perfect with the witch shoes and the stripes and the polka dots.  I won't ignore my first cup (I would hate to have her curse me) but I couldn't resist adding this one to my collection.

Obviously this has nothing to do with cups or witches (although maybe a witch would wear these?  No...these would be for a sorceress).  But, a lovely friend posted this on my Facebook page and I almost forgot I had it.  Bad blogger!  Sorry, lovely friend, I wasn't deliberately ignoring your contribution.  These are crazy and they scare me a little bit.  Some dark magic is at work in these shoes.  They might sacrifice something later.

Again, nothing to do with anything, except a rather loose association with Halloween.  These are from my cousin and they are steampunk.  They make me think of Halloween because they are black and because that cat might be possessed.  Actually, I think it's more likely a witch's familiar.

So after all of that I went looking for more randomly associated pictures.  I'm thinking a nicer sorceress would wear these.

Another cat.  This cat is kind of cute, but the pumpkin might be evil.

Whoa.  Saucy, possibly slutty, sorceress.

Bat shoes!  Because bat rhymes with cat...?  Whatever, these make me smile.

This is just the beginning of the October/Halloween shoe posts, so feel free me to send me inspiration!

Not So Sure

As I was out and about (oot and aboot) today I saw this seasonal cookie:

I'm not so sure about these.  They might be fabulous.  Or they might just be weird.  I would actually try them if I didn't have to buy an entire bag.  And if my gums were healed enough.  I really don't feel like getting oreo cookie out of the holes in my gums...

So I thought I'd go looking for Caramel Apple shoes, but didn't find much.  These were referred to as caramel apple, and I can see why.  They're also really cute.  I like the color combination.

Ooooh, caramel! I want to lick this.  Which is cool.  It's also disturbing because I should NOT want to lick shoes.  This shoe is made out of recycled PVC pipe, which is cool.  They're soooo shiny.

Combine this pair with the above pair and you definitely get caramel apple.  These aren't the cutest baby shoes ever, but they aren't horrible.

And finally some oreo shoes, since that's where we started.  And witch shoes since it's Fall and Halloween is coming up.  These are adorable.  Maybe I should get the caramel apple oreos and make green and brown oreo shoes.  No idea what I would do with them, but it might be fun?

I know you'll be shocked, but I'm going to bed as soon as I post this.  I'm like a "normal" person tonight!

Mmmmmm

We've talked about both cake and cupcakes before.  Usually people post cute pictures on my facebook wall, and then I post them here.  Tonight I decided to go search and see what I could see.  I'm not sure why.  I'm not craving cake or anything, it was just the first thing that popped into my head tonight when I was trying to decide what to write about (sorry, Mom, I know it's midnight there...I'm running late today).  As you would expect from the internet, there are a LOT of pictures of shoe-themed cakes out there.  Some are amazing, some are cute, some are obviously home-made, which makes them just as special in my eyes.  Here are 4 that I chose somewhat at random to give you a glimpse of the lengths people will go to with cake.

OK, this is technically a cake stand with shoes, but I thought it was stinkin' cute, and I love the stripes.

Cakes that are this intricate always make me think how I wouldn't want to cut into them and ruin the art.  Plus, just the thought of that much fondant makes me a little queasy.

Simpler, but still pretty.  Still too much fondant.

These are actually Dolce and Gabbana and not cake, but they popped up in the search.  While I appreciate the intricacy of this as a shoe, I really wish it was cake.  This would be an amazing cake.  Someone needs to get on this.

Witchy

The shoe calendar presented me with these this morning:

They are from 1985, but all I can see when I look at them is witch shoes.  It's the combination of the buckle and the extremely pointy toes.  Of course I then had to go searching for more witch shoes and here are a few of my favorite:

I wouldn't wear any of them on a normal day, but I would wear them for Halloween (although the green ones look potentially really uncomfortable).

These are not witch shoes, but I am a dork, and I love me some candy corn, so I think these are adorable.  They even have 2 candies on the heel that looks the fangs I always create with my candy corn.  I would totally wear these throughout the month of October if they came in adult sizes.

So, I am also a dork because I waited to publish today until I could publish this.

The Norwegian in me is required to tell you that of course it's not that big of deal...not bragging.  The other parts of me are like, screw that--yay!  Probably the different parts of my brain need some sort of family therapy or something.  And yes...I may or may not have obsessively hit refresh a million times this afternoon.  It was stuck at 9993 and 9998 FOREVER!
