Creamsicles
Apparently this weekend is made for SKD. Yesterday I went with green shoes, and today is National Creamsicle Day, so I'm going with orange shoes. PLUS today is Color Book Day, which I did last year, but she also loves to color, so this is really the perfect weekend for her.
I like creamsicles OK, although I haven't had one in forever. I really like creamsicle flavored yogurt. I really really like the color of creamsicles. The following shoes capture it sometimes and sometimes not so much, but they are what came up when I typed in creamsicle shoes:
These are from the 40s. You know I'm picturing a fabulous retro outfit to go with these.
Canvas shoe collection!
I love these. Very cute. (Hey, Mom...we need these for the 50th anniversary pictures!)
These are from the 70s. Hmmm...the outfits I'm picturing aren't quite as cute as the ones from the 40s.
Awwww...the PB could be an adorable little creamsicle baby!
Happy Creamsicle Day! Now I might have to go out and find myself a creamsicle to celebrate.

Milk Chocolate
Today is National Chili Dog Day, National Hamburger Day, and National Milk Chocolate Day. You know which direction I'm going to go:
Milk Chocolate WOODEN shoes? They should have rethought that from a marketing perspective.
Chocolate shoes in a box shaped like a purse!
If someone really really really loved me they would buy me some milk chocolate shoes to celebrate this historic day. I'm just sayin'.

Podcasts
I had really good intentions to post this weekend, but life had other plans. Sunday's plans involved seeing a friend from seminary who I hadn't seen for a couple of years so thahappy t was awesome. Sadly she is here because her mom is having health issues, so while I was very to see her, I'm not happy as to why she was available to visit. Also, what is up with the last 2 Sundays involving visits with friends whose moms (in law) are so sick? Again, prayers and good thoughts are appreciated. At any rate, I was very happy to see my friend. And then I went to the office. To be fair, I dropped the hubby at the office at 8 am, came home to get ready, drove to Turlock to hang out, then drove back to the office, where I worked for 4 hours, so while I did work on Sunday, the hubby worked for 13 hours. Because he is crazy. But then I was too tired to post when we got home.
I was also too tired to post on Saturday after 11 hours at the office, but this time it was my own fault. Why you ask? Well, thank you for asking, I will tell you: The business has developed a national podcast network. We currently have 19 shows with almost 100 episodes published. It's really cool. The hubby does the MMA and Fantasy Football podcasts and he asked me to do a Book Review and Bible Study podcast. So Saturday I did my first episodes of each and learned how to edit them. It took me 8 hours to produce 1 1/2 hours of podcasts. I'm really hoping I get better at editing so it doesn't take so dang long. It was actually fun to do, as well as being slightly terrifying. It's more terrifying now as they went live today so now people can listen to them. I half want lots of people to listen and half want no one to listen.
At any rate, since both podcasts involve books, I clearly need shoes. I've done book shoes before, and these shoes specifically:
These are by Charlotte Olympia, and I still think they are really cool. But it turns out they come in multiple colors!
Clearly I need as many colors as possible so I can wear them while I podcast about books! AND there also...
Purses! Book shoes and book clutches. I'm in love. I wonder if the hubby would let me buy these out of the office budget?
So, if you want to listen to either of the podcasts you can use the following links: Book Review, or Bible Study. Or, you can go here and check out all of our podcasts!
PS - if you read this whole post thinking, "what the heck is a podcast?!" I shall attempt to explain: Podcasts are like radio shows. In fact, many radio shows are also podcasts, like ESPN's Mike & Mike or NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Unlike radio shows, though, which air at a specific time, podcasts can be downloaded on a variety of devices and you can listen to them whenever you want and however many times you want. I hope that helps. The end.

Patchwork
As usual, I've waited way too late to post. I keep getting sidetracked, apparently and then suddenly I'm ready for bed and I haven't posted. You'd think I'd do it waaaay earlier in the day to avoid this silliness. But I don't, and I didn't again today, so instead of me blah-blahing at you as usual, I'm just going to give you the pictures I had saved for today's post, and you can like or dislike as you wish. You can also decide which ones you think I like or dislike.
I don't own any patchwork shoes, but there is a patchwork blanket awaiting me, and I shall now go join it.

Tired
I am crazy tired today. I fell asleep at 8:30 last night, then woke up at 11:30 and couldn't figure out why all the lights were on. I brushed my teeth, turned out lights, went back to sleep, and didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning. And I'm STILL tired! I'm back at church for a few hours today and it's a struggle to stay awake. Oh well, let's talk about shoes. This is from the calendar today and I LOVE it:
This is from 1933, but I've seen some similar styles that are out now. I would definitely wear the retro version. I'm picturing these shoes with a fabulous suit (with a skirt, obviously since it's the 30s), and an awesome hat.
Sometime this week (who knows when, it's all a bit of a blur), one of my fabulous camp volunteers brought me this:
It's a book about purses through the decades. I'm not into purses as much as I'm into shoes, but there are some amazing purses in here. The BFF LOVES purses, so I might just have to take this home with me and let her flip through it and drool. I've only flipped through it a little, but there was some really cool stuff. I definitely like the retro purses better than the more modern ones, though. Don't worry, I'm not going to start another blog about handbags, but I might put a few of them on here once in awhile just for fun.
