Sleepy

1. I'm tired.
2. I have no right to be tired as I accidentally fell asleep last night at 7:30 and got 12 hours of sleep.
3. I have a right to be tired since I've been moving furniture and miscellaneous stuff between the office and home since Saturday.
3a. The hubby hurt his back awhile ago so I haven't been letting him help much since I don't want to make it worse.
4. I'm emotionally tired from sending out resumes for the last month and being rejected.  A lot.

I finally feel like I have a minute to do a post, so I looked up sleepy shoes:

I love these!  I want a pair in my size, please.

I wish these were baby shoes.  The sleepy foxes are adorable, but I think they would be adorabler on baby shoes.

Or on socks.  I would wear these.

I can't decide if these are cute or creepy.

SO FLUFFY!!!!

And now I must go read for awhile before I head to bed.  I have an author interview next week and need to finish the book.  Hey, did you know that I have a book review podcast?  Well, I do, and I've been doing author interviews lately, which have been a lot of fun.  I've gotten to read books I might not otherwise, and I get to talk to awesome authors about books.  How can I not love that?  Now I just need to work on not sounding like such a dork when I'm interviewing.  If you want to check out the podcasts you can click on the link above.

Zzzz

Is it wrong to go to bed at 8:30?  Because I'm seriously considering it.  But hey!  It means we're home in order for me to even be able to consider it!  So that's nice, but whyohwhy am I sooooo tired?  I'll blame the book podcast that I did today.  Too much adrenaline from nerves.  It went OK.  I'm not sure I'm exactly good at this podcast thing, but I'm not horrible, either.  Maybe?  I think I'll just look at sleepy shoes and try not to figure out whether or not I'm good at podcasting.

I wonder who has a strong desire to buy sleepy flip flops?  The straps make these look like angry shoes, but the  zzs make them sleepy.  Or maybe they're having angry dreams?

I think I've posted these before, but sleepy sheepy slippers make me smile.

Heehee...these all seem like kind of stinky places to fall asleep!  As much as I love shoes, I think I'll stick with my bed and pillow for sleeping.

Ahhhhh

We were supposed to go to the office today, but for a variety of reasons we ended up staying home.  I slept in!  I finished a book!  I crocheted!  I caught up on some TV watching!  I snuggled puppies!  I ate chocolate!  It was a lovely and relaxing day and I soooo needed it.  Here is a selection of what came up when I typed in "lovely and relaxing shoes."  I'll leave it up to you as to whether they are either, neither, or both.

I hope your day was also lovely and relaxing.

National Dog Day!

So remember how yesterday I said I should wear shoes with lower heels today since my feet were so swollen?  Well, I did.  I chose shoes that I was convinced had shorter heels until I actually got to the office and measured them.  4 1/2 inches.  Ooooh...a whole half an inch shorter!  Insert eye roll here.  I'm currently wearing flats, just in case you were curious.

Today started out promising enough.  I got to sleep in until 6!  But then everything went to Tartarus in a handbasket.  Cue freaking out and panic mode.  Between that and all the crap happening in the news, today's post will be dogs wearing shoes in honor of National Dog Day.  I think we could all use a little cuteness in the day.

They can't fix everything, but hopefully at least one of today's pictures put a smile on your face.

Slippers

I know, I know.  It's been forever again since I've posted.  The hubby and I have been really busy working on a giant project and I've been too tired to post at night.  I'm exhausted right now, but at least I'll get to bed before 4:30 am like I did on Sunday night.  I was convinced I could finish that step of the project, but it turned out I had another seven hours when I started again at 10:30 on Monday.  Ugh.  Anyway, my cousin posted this series of pictures on my Facebook page the other day, and they seem appropriate for my current level of sleepiness:

I'll take a pair of each and rotate through them every 10 days.  The advantage working from home is the ability to wear silly slippers whenever you want.  Must sleep, now.  As Effie Trinket would say, tomorrow's "another big big day!"

Aaah...Lunch

I had lunch with a lovely friend today.  Actually, I think you might be able to accurately use the word "broad" to describe her.  But in a totally good way.  She just lays it out there.  Says it like she sees it.  From some people I would be completely offended by half of what she says.  From her it just seems normal.  So it was a good time all around.  The setting didn't hurt, either:

This is at a place called Phillips Farms, or just The Farm.

Clearly this means we need farm shoes.  Because cows and piggies are cute.

See?  Barns are also cute on shoes!

Heehee.  This whole thing makes me giggle.

Is it weird that I would wear these?  The sheep ones would be perfect for all of the sheep story Sundays at church.

Farm equipment shoes!

I'm not sure what's on the green boots.  Horses and cow pattern fit the farm pattern, though.

So, lunch at The Farm.  Farm shoes.  Old McDonald had a farm.  Yeah, I just needed a third something to finish that sentence.

Random:  I got home this afternoon and the hubby hadn't turned the AC on (I know this sounds weird to those of you who have had snow in the last week...we have had temps in the 90s).  It was 84 degrees in the house and he was wearing a sweatshirt.  My husband was weird.

Sheepses

Today the BSF sent me this:

Sheepies!  Why did she send me such a picture, you ask?  Well, I'll tell you.  When she and I were taking Homilectics (that's a fancy word for preaching class) in seminary, the text for my first sermon was the one where the sheep recognize their master's voice.  So there I was, nervous as hell and talking about sheep when I made a little bouncy sheep motion.  Did you know sheep were bouncy?  Anyway, it has become a silly joke with us and we make the hand gesture whenever we hear the word sheep.  Clearly this was a sign that tonight's post needed to be about sheep shoes (say that 10 times fast).

Sweet little baby sheep slippers would definitely inspire the hand motion!  I kind of want these in my size...

I don't really know what to say about these.  They're just too cutesy for me.  I guess they're sweet in a 50s nursery wallpaper sort of way, but as much as I like the style of the shoes I just can't get on board with this pattern.  And what's up with the bondage sheep?

Way more adorable.  I saw these in pink and blue, too.  Or maybe these are pink?  I thought they were red when I first saw the picture, but maybe not.  Either way, I like them.  Cute but not creepy cute.

Is it wrong that I want these?  I find them hilarious, and I would smile every time I looked at my feet.  And then do bouncy sheep motions until people thought I was crazy.  Or crazier.

OK, these are just wrong.  Seriously?  What the hell is even going on here?  I'm scared of the wedding that would involve these.

Much better.  Like a little green palate cleanser.

And we're back to the bondage sheep.  This time in a heel with a polka dot bow.  Who wears these??

I honestly like these best of the 3.  At least the spikes and the black bow make more sense, and help to balance the creepy cute bondage sheep.

Sheep Birkenstocks!  You didn't think I'd leave you with that last pair, did you?
