Umbrellas

Yesterday was Umbrella Day, and the awesome Pinterest Friend sent me a whole set of cool umbrella themed pictures.  Of course, it was also Ash Wednesday, so I ended up writing about that instead, but I didn't want to ignore the fun stuff she sent, so I'm just going to do Umbrella Day a day late.

I love this.  That is all.

I've posted these before, but they still crack me up.

So cute!  These would be cute in any color, I'm thinking.

I love these.  And then I realized that they kind of look like you're peeing...

I need this!

And a pair of umbrella socks!

I might love this more than I should.  Drink umbrellas!  It's weird and yet I would totally wear a pair.

Happy Belated Umbrella Day!

Here's your trip down memory lane if you're interested.  On this day in : 2013, 2014, 2015.

Today's 3 things:
  1. The Pinterest Friend.  She is am amazing person and I'm lucky to have her as my friend.
  2. Friends who write really well.
  3. Mornings at work that actually go well and give me hope.

Oooh...Spooky

Did you remember that today was Friday the 13th?  I did this morning, made a random comment about it and then pretty forgot about it.  Are you superstitious?  I don't think I am, at least not in obvious ways.  Maybe in other ways that I don't really notice?  Not sure.  In honor of Friday 13th, here are some supersticious-ly themed shoes:

Black cats are supposed to be unlucky, but I'm thinking these are too cute to be unlucky, especially the second one.   See the little tail wrapped around the heel?  Adorbs.

Walking under ladders is also supposed to be unlucky.  Can I just say that I love the ladder shoe storage idea?  I might have to find an old ladder, paint it, and add it to the shoe closet.  I'm not exactly sure what's going on with the second shoe.  Is the ladder attached?  Is it saying you need to climb it to get into the shoe?  Am I being too literal.

That's...a lot of pink.  I'm not fond of animal print in general and pink is too much.  But they're 13 shoes!  And I liked that they came in a women's version, even if it's this particular version.

Uh oh...7 years bad luck if you break a mirror.  What if your dogs chew on your mirror shoes?  Does that count?  Or is it just the puppies who get the bad luck for chewing on the shoes in the first place?

Why is opening an umbrella in the house bad luck?  I like both of these pictures because of the colors and the contrasts.  Very fun.  I think I like the top pair, but it's hard to tell because I can't move beyond the crazy tights to actually concentrate on the shoes.

If you aren't superstitious, then happy Friday! If you are, then I hope you stayed home, snuggled in with a pint of ice cream, and read a good book, thus avoiding cats, ladders, mirrors, umbrellas, and whatever else you consider to be bad luck.

Random Puppy Facts

I've mentioned before how I've never really liked dogs.  I told the hubby I absolutely did NOT want a dog, and if we ever somehow ended up with one it would be an outside dog.  Yeah, now I have two of the creatures that I'm madly in love with and who I let sleep in our bed.  Since I am clearly insane, I may as well embrace it and write a(nother) post about them.

Chalupa is a kisser.  The instant he gets close to either of us he licks our face, with emphasis on inside of our noses and mouths.  It's gross, and his aim is uncanny.  Tallulah will occasionally lick, but it's pretty rare.  Instead, she likes to put her face right up to mine and smell my breath.  This is weird.  And yet it's still better than a dog tongue in my mouth or nose.

Chalupa is extremely needy.  He's like a toddler with separation anxiety and follows me everywhere.  If I'm sitting he's sleeping next to me or on my lap.  If he can get in he lays on the bathmat while I go to the bathroom.  I have to be careful while walking because he's constantly underfoot.  Tallulah is less needy.  But they are completely opposite when we let them sleep with us.  Tallulah is a total spooner and has to be touching one of us, while Chalupa immediately heads to the bottom of the bed to be by himself.

Both puppies would rather have carrots than dog treats.

Now you'd probably think I'd be moving on to something related to puppies and shoes, right?  Nope.  Since random is in the title, I'm going to continue with that theme and move on to....rain boots!  Besides the hubby's injuries and the seester's birthday, Thursday also brought us RAIN!!!  It didn't last all day, but it was sooooo nice to finally give some moisture.    That night the Pinterest Friend sent me these two pictures:

These are from her sister's Instagram account.  She was channeling her inner child and enjoying the rain.  How cute are her rain boots?  So let's look at some more rain boots and puddles.

I totally want it to rain again so I can play in the puddles!  Of course, first I'd have to buy some rain boots.  Or go out and play in regular shoes, which would be bad.

I actually thought that first picture was her boots in leaves, so I found a couple of those.  It's actually bark, but I already found the pictures.  Plus these rain boots have umbrellas on them so they go with the puddle theme!

And these have owls on them, which are the PF's favorite.  I had to include them.

So puppies and rain and boots and puddles.  Random?  Yes.  But it's a random kind of day.

Shoes for a Rainy Day

It started raining last night, and it rained most of today.  Lots and lots of rain that flooded every parking space I tried to pull into while running errands (or so it seemed).  It was the kind of day to stay home and curl up with a good book.  So of course I was at work.  I did rain boots when it rained in September, so here are some other rain inspired shoes for you to look at:

2 pairs of very literal rainy day shoes.  I like the first pair, I think they are whimsical.  I'm not sure what I think about the booties, exactly.  They are cute, but I don't think I would get them necessarily.

These are hilarious.  I hope they are a joke of some kind, because I really don't see that umbrella as actually protecting those shoes in any real way.

A shoe made out of drink umbrellas!  Kind of makes me want to try it.  Looks like I'd have to drink what? 7 or 8 mai tais?  And I can only do that in Waikiki with the BSF.  Let's go!

Pretty sure I need this or one similar.  It's the only time it's OK for your pretty shoes to get wet!

And finally, an update.  Remember when I said that the hubby and I were training for a 5K?  Well, we did great for the first week.  And then the hubby did something to his back and I got another sinus infection.  So we basically suck.  We still want to do it, we just need to heal up enough to get back to it.  My body betrays us enough, we don't need his to start acting up too.
