Love is Love is Love

Happy Valentine's Day!  Whether you are in a relationship or not, I hope your day is full of love.  I know today is supposed to be about romantic love, but I say to heck with that.  The Beatles said "all you need is love," and I think that means whatever kind is available.  Romantic love?  Yep.  Familial love?  Awesome.  Platonic love?  Cool.  God's love?  The best.  Plus, any excuse to eat chocolate is OK in my book.  Here are some heart shoes to show the love:

No thank you.  This is all kinds of crazy.

But this one I love.  I would wear this if I still had the ability to wear heels!

Not bad.  I like the obvious theme.  I'm terrible with white shoes, though, and these would be filthy in no time.

They'd still be filthy, but I like these a little better, which is strange because I usually like red better than pink.

These are my favorite of this series, though.  I like the contrasts in colors.

I love the toe of this, but the rest of it is kind of meh.

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope your day is full of love, whether you're single or in a relationship.  Also, regardless of relationship status, spread that love by telling people you love them!  I love you!  You are awesome and I am lucky to have you in my life!  Now.  Go eat some chocolate.

Will You Be My Valentine?

Happy Valentine's Day!  Whether you are in a relationship or not, I hope your day is full of love.  I know today is supposed to be about romantic love, but I say to heck with that.  The Beatles said "all you need is love," and I think that means whatever kind is available.  Romantic love?  Yep.  Familial love?  Awesome.  Platonic love?  Cool.  God's love?  The best.  Plus, any excuse to eat chocolate is OK in my book.  Here are some heart shoes to show the love:

I'd like full pairs, but I'd take a life size version of this for Valentine's Day.

If these were removable they'd be awesome.  Basic black for every day, sparky hearts for special occasions!

Damn.  No.  Even the shoe itself is weird.

Again, these need to be removable.  Although I'm not likely to wear baby pink slingbacks, with or without shiny hearts.

Simple.  I like this one.

I want to like these, but they look a little cheesy.

Love these.  I need a pair of canvas tennies for every theme.  Buy all the themes!

In case that's not enough Valentine's Day shoes for you, feel free to browse years past:  2013, 2014, 2015.

3 Things:
  1. Breakfast in bed.   Thanks, hubby!
  2. Lazy day binge watching TV with the hubby and puppies.
  3. The Beatles:

Hearts

It's February, so I changed the mantle from snowmen to Valentine's decorations.  I have a box for each month with seasonally appropriate decorations.  They also have my holiday socks, if I have any for that month.  Oh, and just to prove to you what an even bigger dork I am, I also have a mug for each month that goes with the theme.  I blame my mama who also decorates for each month.  Because she's awesome.  I was surprised to open up the February box and discover I have 6 pairs of Valentine's socks.  I'd clearly forgotten this fact.  Actually, from year to year I seem to forget a lot of what's in each box, so it's a fun surprise to open them each month.  Anyhoo, I figured I'd get started on wearing those socks since it's only 2 weeks until V-Day.  Today I wore this pair:

In honor of purple and turquoise socks with hearts, I give you shoes with purple and turquoise hearts.

I really like these, and they're a nice change of pace from the red and pink hearts so prevalent this time of year.

Sorry for this somewhat vague and rambling post.  I've been exhausted all day, and I'd actually meant to go to bed an hour ago, but have been waiting for one thing to finish up and it took way longer than it should, but now it's done and I can sleep.  Sweet dreams to you!

Hearts and Flowers

Happy Valentine's Day!  Or, as I like to think of it: a reason to eat a crap-ton of chocolate in the middle of February!  And speaking of chocolate, the hubby totally got me this morning.  He knows I'm not a morning person, so it's really easy to pull one over on me.  We decided no gifts this year, we were just going to enjoy the day together.  So this morning at 6:45 (ugh) he comes in, all bouncy, wakes me up and says we should go to breakfast.  Oooookay.  Then he goes into this big story about how he has acidophilus pills that really help when we go out but he can't find them, and would I please please please see if I can find them?  Did I mention I'm not a morning person?  I don't think much about it, I just get annoyed that he's not letting me sleep when he said he would.  As I'm walking down the hall I smell something, look up, and see this:

Awwww...chocolate and roses!  And just like 2 years ago, Pedro was in on the plan.  They definitely helped with my eat a crap-ton of chocolate plan!

As often happens on holidays, there are a ton of pictures, so more pictures, fewer words.

The calendar offerings for the day.

Valentine's shoes.  Pair 1 is crazy and funny.  Pair 3 isn't really a Valentine shoe, but it came up in the search and I thought they were cute.  The last pair looks like really crazy tattoos.

Chocolate Valentine shoes!

This year's Valentine's Day socks.  You can refresh your memory on last year's here.  I actually bought a 6 pack because they were cute and not expensive.  The other 3 went to SKD because she and I have a sock relationship.  She gives me socks, I giver her socks, her kids steal her socks.  It's a pattern.  I gave her the three pairs that have green on them.  And now that I think about it, she got the ones with the more fun patters (I know that's not grammatically correct).  Maybe I should hire one of her kids to steal them and give them back to me...

Happy February 14th!  Hope you have a fabulous day however you celebrate (or not)!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  I know it's not a happy day for everyone.  Single people can find it depressing, married people can find it to be a pain, and those who have lost loved ones or who are lonely in any way can find it absolutely painful.  My hope is that the day was nice for you in some fashion, and that you were surrounded by love no matter your relationship status, and especially if you are missing a loved one on this day.  I figure, no matter if you love or loathe the day, at least it's a good reason to eat chocolate and look at shoes.

The calendar got into the spirit with this interesting pair.  The platform is weird, as is the heel, but I like them well enough.

Valentine's Day seems to be one of the few days when the calendar goes with a theme. You might remember this pair from last year's calendar.  I love the deep, rich red of this pair.

I've been posting on the Olympics all week, so haven't shared my socks with you, but I have been wearing them.  And photographing them.

Somehow these uploaded in the complete wrong order, and I'm feeling to lazy to fix it.  These are the pair I wore yesterday.  Conversation hearts!  I also like them because they aren't just crazy amounts of pink and red.  Purple and blue need some love too!

I have no idea who gave these to me.  (If it was you, will you please tell me?)  Which is a shame, because they are my favorite.  As such I wore them today, on the actual day.  I love the adorable little  froggy.  I'm not sure whose gian lips have been kissing my feet, though...

This is the pair I wore on Wednesday.  Very dainty, they are.

OK, back to shoes!

These are crazy.  How  high do you think those are?  I'm pretty sure I would fall off and break something.

Now this is my kind of Valentine!

Very thematic, but I actually like them.  They look like a Valentine's box turned into a shoe.

Awww...Valentine shoes full of candy!  (or so I presume)  Someone got crafty with their Valentines.

Wow.  Someone needs to step away from the hot glue gun.  Just put it down, and back away slowly.

Also wow. These are also crazy, and yet still not as cracked out as the conversation heart shoes.

The hubby and I celebrated with sushi, frozen yogurt, and Harry Potter at home.  Some might think that is boring, but to me it was perfect.

Hope your day was full of lots and lots of love, no matter what kind. The Beatles said, "all you need is love."   Yep.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day from the Shoe Calendar!

They're red, they're shiny, they have some sparkle.  Add some chocolate and they'd be just about perfect!

On Tuesday morning when I flipped to the next page on the calendar it was this and I thought, oh that's a nice choice for Valentine's Day.  Then I realized that it was 2 days before Valentine's...yeah, I clearly have issues.

Oh well.  Hope you have a great day!  Celebrate however suits you best and makes you happy.  My day started with this sweet surprise from the hubby:
