Babies Babies Babies

As I was contemplating last night's post and the funk therein, I realized another part of the general feeling of blah I've been having is babies. Not babies themselves, because it's not their fault I feel blah, just the idea of babies in general.  Of my friends on Facebook, that I can think of off the top of my head, I have:
  • 1 friend who had a baby 2 months ago
  • 2 friends who had babies 1 month ago
  • 1 friend who had a baby 2 weeks
  • 2 friends who are due in October
  • 1 friend who is due in November
  • 1 friend who is due in December
  • 1 friend who is due in January
  • 1 friend who is due in February
  • 1 friend who is due in May
Don't get me wrong, I am so very thrilled for all of these women and their babies and families.  Babies are awesome and I love them. Which is part of the problem.  That are a LOT of pictures of newborns and baby bumps and general baby cuteness/happiness that I am not a part of.  It adds to the funk is all I'm saying.

So in honor of that funk, and in order to both soothe and torture myself, today's post is baby shoes.

I love these.  So simple and sweet.

Look at the teeny tiny eyes on the strap!  At least I think they're eyes.  I've decided they're eyes regardless.

Sigh...I love dragonflies.

Nerdy baby shoes!  (sorry, Double A and Bean, I know you aren't a fan of DC...I'll find some Marvel shoes next time)

Back to simple and sweet.

Now.  Who has a baby they will let me snuggle for the next week-5 years?

Yum!

Last week at least 5 people shared this video with me.  I tried to embed the video here, but couldn't figure out how this time, so you'll have to click the link.  Sorry to make you work so hard.  It's a video of chocolate shoes from a place called Tasty Image.  It always intrigues me how things will go in cycles, and I'll get the same picture or video shared to my Facebook page by numerous people.  JG and I were talking about it and she said, "well it's no secret that you like chocolate and shoes."  Yep, I have to agree.  I'm firmly out of the closet on both of those things.  So thank you to everyone who share the yumminess!  My response was always something like, "those are too pretty to eat.  Except that I would totally eat them."  Their site has a whole album of chocolate shoes, but here are a few of my favorites.

Mmmm..I love that they are made of chocolate AND they are containers for MORE chocolate.  These are people after my own chocolate-loving heart.  Now if only I had one of these beautiful and yummy shoes right now.

Memory Lane: 2013. 2014. (Notice how absent 2015 has been lately?  I definitely fell off on posting last year)

3 Things:

  1. Fabulous friends who share shoe stuff on my Facebook page.
  2. We had a potluck with all of the employees today.  It was awesome for team building and getting to know each other.  Also my introverted self hated it and wanted to hide under the table.  I'll focus on the first.
  3. The potluck involved chocolate.

Bat Kid is My Hero

Did you watch or read the coverage today on Batkid?  If you didn't, you really should click on the link and watch the little 5 year old save Gotham City (AKA San Francisco).  Bat Kid is a 5 year old who has had Leukemia for the past several years, and this was his wish from the Make a Wish Foundation.  He got to save a damsel in distress and foil The Riddler in his attempts to rob a downtown bank.  It's a pretty amazing story.  Batbear Pedro was very impressed with his counterpart's crime fighting abilities.  In honor of this little superhero, here are some awesome Batman shoes for kiddos:

Thanks, Batkid for saving the day!  (and I'll take a pair of each of these shoes for the imaginary shoe closet and my imaginary kid...)

Wait...You DON'T Dress Your Bear Up For Halloween?

Pedro's Halloween costume came in the mail today!  So...it's a long story, many of you know it, but the hubby and I have a bear named Pedro.  We started taking silly pictures of Pedro and sending them to each other.  Then, when I proposed to the hubby, Pedro helped me write a book about our relationship from his (Pedro's) perspective.  He has also written a book about our wedding and another about our first year married.  Some people have kids, we have a bear.  A bear for whom I buy outfits.  Last year Pedro channeled my Scottish ancestry for Halloween:

This year Pedro is going the superhero route.  He's...Batbear!

I of course had to put his outfit on him as soon as it came in the mail today.  And he's just so stinkin' cute that I then had to post the picture on Facebook and blog about him.  Yes, I need therapy.

OK, off of my Pedro obsession and on to my shoe obsession.  In honor of Batbear:

I think the hubby and I need to get us some Batman shoes so we can take our bear out trick-or-treating.  Then the men in white coats will come and take us away...
