Candy Canes

Tonight's post is inspired by the website which must not be named, which posted this picture on Facebook today:

 

It's December, so I can post a Christmasy candy cane post, right?  Because these are too cute to pass up.  I would totally wear these for a Christmas party if they were something other than slingbacks.  Of course I then had to go on a hunt for more candy cane shoes.

 

I actually know someone who owns these shoes!  Or some remarkably similar if not this exact pair.  He's a teacher and wears them in December.  See?  Guys can be fun and creative in the shoe department!

I think I would like this if they had a narrower heel.  Although I do appreciate that the heels are actual candy cane shapes.

These actually make me think more nautical than candy cane, but they're still cute and still fit with the theme.

 

Love love love.  I want to wear these to a Christmas party.  Quick!  Someone have a Christmas party and invite me!  Oh, and could you buy me the the shoes, too?...

I'm running out of candy cane related comments, but these are also cute.

If I were a teacher, or still in a parish, I would wear these for Christmasy things where I wouldn't wear heels.

Now I want stripey shoes.  And hot chocolate with a candy cane in it.

I am JUST now getting in bed because I JUST now finished a giant project for the hubby. I've decided to blame him for my wonky sleep patterns. He's asleep so he can't defend himself. Oh well. A quick check of Facebook provided me with this cute shoe from SBP, so I pass it on to you:

One pair will have to do for tonight. In my opinion these are cute enough to tide us over until the next post. (Am I just tired or does that back foot look disembodied?)

Gold and Black

It's Fall!  Fall makes me think of boots!  You already know this if you are a regular reader.  I should link to other boot posts, but...I don't wanna.  I trust in your ability to click on the "boots" label at the bottom if you want to see other posts.  Anyhoo, 2 pictures of boots that have caught my attention this week:

 

 

These were on SBP, and I like them.  They are insane and kind of look like Pirate boots, but I like the side view, and I like the coat/dress/whatever.  I would never wear the boots, let alone the whole outfit, unless it was a costume of some kind.  But I would enjoy the hell out of that costume if I ever had a reason to wear it.

 

These SKD posted on my facebook wall today.  I'm amazed at how much they evoke the top picture for me.  Except that these take the crazy and jump right off the insanity ledge.  All of these weird, hybrid boots just flabbergast me.  Why?   Although it would be kind of fun to wear these under my alb one Sunday just to see what people would say.  But only if someone loaned them to me...and even then I wouldn't want to ruin my reputation as being a wearer of cute shoes.

 

Fall is supposed to mean CUTE boots.  Not CRAZY boot thingies.  Where do I send the memo?

Whenever Shoe Box P--- puts up a picture that catches my eye I save it to my shoe picture folder for future posts.  Today I noticed that I had 2 pair of green shoes saved in there.

 

Since one of my very good friends, my mom, my sister, and AA all loooooove green, I figured I would do a whole post of green shoes (remember, if you click on the link you can go explore even more green shoes).  So here we go:

 

 

Love these.   Want them.  Could definitely wear them for the way-too-long green season  at church.

 

I've mentioned it before, but I used to have the pair in the top right corner.  I loved them, but they mangled my toes something awful.

 

I don't have green boots.  Hmmmm....

 

 

These are hilarious.  I want them for Halloween.  I could wear them with my striped socks and be completely frightening from a fashion perspective.

What the...?

The calendar gave me this gem this morning:

 

 

The shoe is multi-colored, from the 80s, and may or may not be fine or hideous or blah.  What is up with the angle of the picture, though?  The detailing doesn't seem fabulous to need to be highlighted.  Was the photographer just bored of photographing shoes and wanted a different shot?  I feel like I'm staring at this shoe's butt, and it's a little awkward...

 

Then I went on facebook and SBP presented me with these boots:

 

 

Damn.  I hope these are more pliable than they look, because how would you walk in them?  Although, I do think they would be kind of hilarious under my robes at church. Like a secret.  But then if I wanted to show anyone I would basically have to flash them, and that would lead to all kinds of boundary issues.  So, more awkwardness...

 

In other news, the church's IT guy came today to get my new laptop all set up with the network and wifi and printers, etc.  Pretty sure someone peed in his Cheerios this morning because he was CRANKY.  He actually got annoyed with me and thought I should fix something he couldn't figure out.  Umm...isn't that what we pay him for?  What the heck do I know about it?

 

In other other news, my mom and aunt are visiting cousins in Portland this week.  Which is awesome, and I hope they are having a fabulous time (hi, Mom and Aunt!).  On the other hand, it means my mom's not reading the blog, and since she's almost the only one who ever comments, I am in comment withdrawal.   I wonder if I should see a doctor for that?

 



Yay, Friends!

Another lovely MT day.  We didn't do much but hang out with nieces, but that is perfectly fine with me.  Then this evening I had 2 friends from different parts of my life drive out to see us while we're home.  I have awesome friends.  Neither of these women know each other except for possibly meeting at the wedding last summer.  But since tonight was the night that worked best in their schedules they both came out.  I always find it fascinating when various parts of my life come together.  This time it was fun to hang out with both of them and watch them talk to and hang out with each other.  I'm very happy I got to see them, even though it was too brief.

Zodiac

And we're off!  The hubby and I drove 12 hours today and are more than half-way to our destination.  We are 4 hours further than we originally intended to be tonight, which is awesome.  Can't wait to get home to the fam tomorrow.  Since today was spent entirely in the car, I'm borrowing something from Shoe Box P--- today.  Take a look and see which shoes are yours.

 

 

I'm an Aries, and my shoes are OK, but not my favorite.  I have no idea how whoever put this together chose which shoes went with which sign.  Maybe there is a system, maybe it's totally random.  What do you think?  Are your shoes "you?"



Eeeew....Slytherin

I was procrastinating on my sermon earlier by looking at Facebook, and Shoe Box P--- presented me with the following:

 

Some people might look at these and just see a pair of black and silver pumps with snakes on them.  I look at these and think, Gross!  Slytherin shoes!  Because I am a giant Harry Potter fan, and Slytherin is icky.  So of course, then I had to go search for Harry Potter shoes.  There are a TON.  At first I was going to make this just a general Harry Potter post, but then as I was searching I found a bunch that were just Slytherin, so decided to go with those, even though they are evil.  Plus, this means I can do posts on the other houses.  Woohoo!

 

 

There are more, of course, but these are just a few I selected for their different styles.  And I'm not alone in my thinking, because in my search I found these:

 

 

Same shoes as above!  And they were described as Slytherin shoes.  Except that the colors are wrong, so someone was confused.  Yep, I am a dork.  And I like it.



 

 

4th of July

I am so very disappointed in the shoe calendar for today:

 

These are hideous in general; they are like a craft project gone horribly wrong.  They are from the 90s, but that doesn't even excuse them.  Plus, it's the 4th of July.  I don't need full on stars on stripes, but they couldn't go with the theme even a little bit?  I would have settled for a red or blue pair of shoes.  On the other hand, Shoe Box P--- totally went with the theme:

 

 

The pumps are cute.  The booties are hideous, but I will take hideous in the name of a theme over weird puff-ball sandals any day.

 

It's possible I'm just cranky because I am on day 2 of the monster bitch headache from hell, which is absolutely no fun.  Thankfully it's a holiday so I can stay home and relax and hope it goes away before tomorrow.   Hope you are having a fabulous day however you are celebrating!



Blech

I mentioned the other day that I was pretty sure I had bronchitis and another sinus infection.  Sometimes it sucks to be right.  I saw my PA yesterday and my pulmonologist today, and sure enough, I have both.  So I'm back on Prednisone and Augmentin.  I really hate my body sometimes.  Now the husband is sick, too.  I'm totally jealous that he gets to stay home while I drag my whiny butt to work.  I preached tonight, and I have a funeral on Friday, and I preach again on Sunday.  I deserve new shoes.  OK, I don't deserve shoes.  But a girl can dream, right?  Here are a few selections from the site that shall not be named because it attracts spammers:
