Giants

6 of our staff went to San Francisco for a Giants game today.  It was a little cold when the wind blew, but not bad, and you really can't beat the view.

We were as far up as you can possibly go, but they were still pretty great seats.  The Giants were ahead for most of the game, but the Phillies tied it up in the 9th, so we had a 10th inning and the Giants won.  So a fun day, even though the Sr. Pastor is a huge Dodgers fan and wasn't thrilled with the win.

2 of the staff wore matching, sparkly Giants fleep flops:

Between the 2 pictures you can kind of see how high up we were.  I  think my favorite part is that the woman on the right managed to position her foot so we can't see that her toes aren't painted.  I just outed her, but her toes looked lovely, painted or no.  You do get to see the lovely orange pedicure on the left, though.  Orange and black were my high school's colors, so it was a bit of a flashback for me to see it everywhere.  Good day, just long.  Must sleep now.

Wedding Blues

The picture that makes up the header of my blog page is from my wedding.  Mine are the blue shoes with the ivory dress (probably fairly obvious) and the other feet belong to 3 of my friends from seminary who performed the ceremony.  Yes, we had 3 pastors do our wedding.  Some people have lots of bridesmaids, I had lots of pastors.  I could have had more, I seem to know 1 or 2 people who are in the profession.  Anyway, here is another picture from our wedding day:

You can't really see much of the shoes, but you can see enough to tell that they matched my sash (which was awesome, and I loved it).  I've wanted blue wedding shoes for a long time, and I knew this wasn't an original idea, but today I searched to see what else was out there.  A lot, as you can probably imagine.  Here is just a smattering.

I still love my shoes the best.  I had them dyed to match my sash which matched some of the bridesmaids dresses.  I wanted a shoe with some bling on it, but the ones I really liked in the dyed to match section were slingbacks, and they didn't have my size at the time I was looking.  So, I ordered a pair that I liked, and then bought shoe clips.  Blue wedding shoes are awesome.

Organization

I had one of those days where I felt way too busy and also like I got nothing done.  I got stuff done, it just feels like I am so far behind I may never get caught up.  Is it possible to get so far behind you can actually lap yourself?  I used to have this vision of myself as an adult:  I would be an amazing woman who was organized, gracious, accomplished, etc.  Well, genetically and age-wise, I am a woman, so I got one of them at least.  I used to be more organized.  We don't even have children and I feel like I can't stay caught up.  So, I decided to look at ideas for organizing shoes.  Mine are currently in a large pile on the closet floor because my shoe rack buckled under the strain.  Here are just a few ideas that caught my eye.

I have seen this idea before and like how the shoes would be organized and out of sight.  I would need more than one, though.  And it doesn't have room for boots.

I love this.  If only we had a stairway.  It would work for other storage besides shoes, too.

Classy.  Wish we had a walk-in closet.

Yes, please.  Again, I would need a closet big enough for it.  Maybe my dad should just come build me an extra room...

Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  Or, at least what's left of it.  These shoes have nothing to do with the holiday, but they ARE festive:

One of the acolytes at the second service was wearing them, and I thought they were a lot of fun.  She was a good sport about letting me take a picture of her foot, although I'm pretty sure I just reinforced her impression that I'm crazy.  Not sure what kind of impression I made on her grandmother, who is visiting from Switzerland.  She kind of laughed, but also looked at me like I was possibly the oddest person she'd ever met.

In other news, the hubby has been working frantically on our backyard.  It's not finished (according to him), but it's getting there, and he set up the hammock this past week while I was at synod assembly.  Ahhhh...I love a good hammock.  We bought ours when we were in Mexico on our honeymoon, and this is the first time we've set it up.  I may just move in permanently.

Here you can see some of the yard, and me ensconced in the hammock with a book. Hmmm...I wonder what I should name the hammock? Maybe Harvey. Except then I would end up saying things like, "I'm going to go lay in Harvey..."

May the Fourth

Dang.  Now I kind of wish I had realized and saved my Star Wars post for today.  May the Fourth be with you.  (And also with you)  It just didn't occur to me the other day when I wrote the post that I had the perfect day to use it.  At any rate, if I owned them, I totally would have worn these today:

It would have been totally and completely awesome.  Sadly, I am just not that cool.

She didn't wear them today, but I had to take a picture.  These are the shoes the BSF bought the other day when we went shopping together.

Again, cute.  Again, slingbacks.  Again, coveting.  Oh well.  I wore 2 pairs of shoes today, both of which I have posted, probably a couple of times.  This morning we finished up synod assembly and had worship, then I drove home from Fresno.  When I got home I quickly showered and changed into my second outfit and pair of shoes for the day and the hubby and I went to a Cinco de Mayo/birthday party at some friends of ours'.  He's actually still there, but I came home so I could go to bed since I have to work tomorrow.  Which means I need to stop typing and actually go to sleep.

Would You Throw Shoes?

Day 2 of Synod Assembly was long; it was a full day of meetings with a fairly contentious budget discussion.  Good work was done, though, so that makes the length easier to handle.  I'm currently in my hotel room, enjoying some introvert time and watching crap TV.

When I checked facebook this morning before meetings, I saw this:

I fully own that I am easily entertained, but this made me snicker a little.  I would never throw my shoes at someone.  Probably.

I would certainly never throw these adorable shoes at someone.

Another offering from the BSF.  She is totally knocking it out of the park with shoes at this event.  And her shoes are once again making me covet.  This is the nice thing about having friends with awesome taste in shoes...I can totally live vicariously through their shoe closets.

Slingbacks and Cake

Today was a day of meetings, but some really good things as well:  Good worship (of course it was good as the BSF planned it), and I got to sleep in because things didn't start until 1:00.  The sleeping in was awesome, and so needed.  This sinus infection isn't awful, it's just making me crazy tired.  Anyhoo, I wore shoes today that I have already posted, but the BSF was wearing adorable shoes:

I love them and I covet them.  I also covet her ability to wear slingbacks.  I'm sinning all over the place today.  Adorable.  One of the many reasons she is, in fact, my BSF.

Speaking of adorable, this was posted on my facebook timeline today:

Pretty sure this needs to be my next birthday cake, except in blue.  Would someone please get on that for me?
