Sleepy

1. I'm tired.
2. I have no right to be tired as I accidentally fell asleep last night at 7:30 and got 12 hours of sleep.
3. I have a right to be tired since I've been moving furniture and miscellaneous stuff between the office and home since Saturday.
3a. The hubby hurt his back awhile ago so I haven't been letting him help much since I don't want to make it worse.
4. I'm emotionally tired from sending out resumes for the last month and being rejected.  A lot.

I finally feel like I have a minute to do a post, so I looked up sleepy shoes:

I love these!  I want a pair in my size, please.

I wish these were baby shoes.  The sleepy foxes are adorable, but I think they would be adorabler on baby shoes.

Or on socks.  I would wear these.

I can't decide if these are cute or creepy.

SO FLUFFY!!!!

And now I must go read for awhile before I head to bed.  I have an author interview next week and need to finish the book.  Hey, did you know that I have a book review podcast?  Well, I do, and I've been doing author interviews lately, which have been a lot of fun.  I've gotten to read books I might not otherwise, and I get to talk to awesome authors about books.  How can I not love that?  Now I just need to work on not sounding like such a dork when I'm interviewing.  If you want to check out the podcasts you can click on the link above.

Hooray Baby H!

I should be proof-reading articles right now, but I need to take a quick break and give my brain something else to think about for a few minutes.  Plus, the PF had her baby on Friday, and I haven't done a post on it yet!  Baby H came into the world around 4 am Friday morning and is doing well.  He spent a couple of days in the NICU just to make sure he was breathing properly, getting proper nutrition, and taking care of a bit of jaundice, but he got to go home yesterday, so there is even more reason to celebrate.  He is such an adorable baby, and his mama has been flooding my Facebook timeline with all sorts of baby spam, which is AWESOME.  He has a whole head full of blonde hair.  So much so that the PF can mold it into a teeny tiny faux mohawk!  Big Brother J seems to be doing well with this new addition to the family.  At least he looked awfully pleased and proud in the pictures of him holding his new brother.  I probably won't get to meet Baby H for a long time, so I'm grateful for all of the pictures.  And now, of course, there must be shoes to celebrate.

These are simple, but adorable.  I like now soft and snuggly they look.

I've posted these before, but I still love them, and the came up when I typed in Baby H---- Shoes, so I had to post them again!

These also came up in that search.  The internet must know it's PF's baby!

These aren't my favorite, but I love the color, and I don't often see helicopter shoes, so I thought that was fun.

These are my favorite.  I know you're shocked.

There you go.  5 pairs of Baby H shoes for the first 5 days of his adorable little life.  Welcome to the world, Baby H!

PS--if you haven't clicked on the links taking you to the glossary, please do so.  I need more sets of eyes telling me if I've forgotten stuff or gotten stuff wrong.

Socks

I read the post I wrote last year on February 1st, and it kind of cracked me up because I could have written the exact same post today (except that I'm wearing different socks).  Speaking of socks...I MUST show you the socks SKD got me for Christmas!  You know, now that I've worn them and taken pictures of them all.

How fun are these in all of their crazy color combos?  They both match everything and at the same time match nothing, so I just wear them with whatever.  Plus, they are really thick and comfy and squishy, which is awesome.  So, basically the underlying theme of this post is that I'm one of those people who really really likes getting socks for Christmas.

Whew!

Today was a VERY busy day.  Double A, The Bean, The VH, Flower, Pippi, Tink, and Laughter were all here for Holidays!  Holidays is the tradition we started when DJ was 4 (she's 19 now), and try to do at least once a year, where we celebrate a bunch of holidays in one day because I'm usually not home for most of them.  So today we did:

Easter.  Each kid gets to dye 6 eggs, then we send them off on an errand and I hide the eggs (obviously it's too cold for the bunny to come do it).

Thanksgiving.  We eat Thanksgiving dinner, but very pared down.

We celebrate birthdays.  Each person gets a cupcake.  We've started doing only 1 candle for each, because between 7 kids and 4 adults, it would have been something like 304 candles.  11 are easier to light and blow out...

4th of July.  We got outside and do sparklers and smoke bombs.  There isn't always snow like this year, so this time we got to toss the smoke bombs in the snow and watch the results.

Halloween.  We do face paint and the kids trick-or-treat around the house.

St. Patrick's Day.  We do a treasure hunt with clues to follow to find the Leprechaun's lost gold (gold wrapped chocolate).

Are you exhausted reading about it?  Because it's exhausting doing it!

We then all wore our matching owl pjs to the movie.  Because I am a dorky aunt who makes her nieces do stuff like that.

The movie was Moana, and it was a lot of fun.

Finally, today is Shoetopia's 4th blogiversary!  I think this shoe is hilarious and adorable.

Everyone is supposed to be spending the night, but sadly Pippi had a horrible headache all day and decided she wanted to go home after the movie, and Tink decided to go with her.  The VH has family stuff tomorrow so she couldn't say over.  I still have 4 kiddos sleeping over, though.

Speaking of kiddos, all of my nieces are amazing, but can I take a minute to brag on Double A and The Bean?  They still love to do Holidays, but they are also great with helping with the younger kids.  They're great with kids in general, and love hanging out with their cousins.  They are patient and kind and loving, and it makes my heart happy to watch them.  But now my happy heart and I are going to bed.

Henry!

Today I learned (because the Pinterest Friend learned) that the Pumpkin Seed is actually a Henry!  So now she will have 3 boys, counting her hubby, in her family.  It's Facebook official, so I'm not giving any spoilers by posting it here.  Tonight's shoes are in gratitude for baby boys:

I do love me some plaid.

I love these. The gray parts look like dapper, little vests.

He would, of course, need a matching sweater to go with these.

So snuggly for a little Idaho baby!

I love all of the colors of the foxes.

I mostly found "girl" owl shoes.  What's up with that?

And of course some adorable hedgie hogs.

Yay, babies!  I'm having a sleepover at the seester's tonight, so I'm off to snuggle with Flower and Laughter while we watch the new season of Fixer Upper.

Owls

I'm assuming you knew (or guessed) that this post was coming.  I already did fox and hedgehog shoes for the Pinterest Friend's Pumpkin Seed (the PF's PS?), so of course I have to do owls as well.

These 2 are very similar, and I think I've posted them both before, but they are just so colorful and happy that I had to post them again.

I'm wondering if these were specifically cut out of fabric that has a variety of owls, and if so, what do the rest of the adorable owls look like?

I love these colors.

I think I've also posted these before, but I just don't care! Because cuteness.

I had to give you both pictures so you could see the different angles, AND that they are corduroy! I love corduroy.

I also love owls, and the PF and her PS.  It's a love fest.

Foxes and Owls and Shoes, Oh My

Today is the Pinterest Friend's birthday!  Hooray!  Because she is the PF and cool like that, SHE sent ME presents.  Oh silly PF.  Here they are:

I think I've posted the puppy shoes before, but didn't know they were part of a series.  I just don't know why they are so sad.  And why the kitties and zebras look surprised.

These are adorable.  I don't really have a desire to wear fox shoes, but if I did, I think these might be the ones.  I'm sure there's some event where they would be appropriate.

The rest are my gifts to the PF, fox and owl shoes:

They're all Zazzle, and they're all adorable.  When I win the lottery or become a rich and famous podcaster (hahahahaha) I will buy everyone adorable but crazy-expensive Zazzle tennies in the theme of their choice.

Happy Birthday, PF!  I hope your day was superfantabulous!

I also want to acknowledge that today is the birthday of one of my best friends from high school.  Sadly she died about 6 years from a brain hemorrhage.  She was way too young and left behind a husband and young son, her father, sister, and 2 brothers.  The world misses her big laugh and crazy sense of humor.  I regret that we lost track of each other for awhile and had only just reconnected via Facebook but hadn't had a chance to see each other in person (even though we were living in same town) when she died.  RIP, my friend.

PF!

I actually got a day off today! (OK, full disclosure: I did work from home for a couple of hours, but I got to sleep until 8:30 and we didn't go into the office!).  AAAAAAND even better, I got to have coffee with the PF!  Sadly she and her family are in town because her mother-in-law is having health issues, so prayers would be appreciated for the MIL and the whole family.  But it was so nice to see her and spend a couple of hours catching up.  Facebook chat just isn't the same.  Tonight's shoes are her honor, of course.

Owls!  I think I've posted 2 of these before, but they're just so cute I couldn't resist.  I knew the PF loved owls, but I learned today that she also likes foxes.  At least I assume so since she wants a fox tattoo.  Stands to reason at any rate.  So, fox shoes.

I think these are adorable.  I'd wear them if they were in adult sizes.

I'm unclear why the foxes are yellow and lavender here, but they're smooching!  Smooching fox shoes!

You know I love these because I'm blue.

I think I'm a fan of fox shoes!

Aaaah.  Good day.
