Sleepy

1. I'm tired.
2. I have no right to be tired as I accidentally fell asleep last night at 7:30 and got 12 hours of sleep.
3. I have a right to be tired since I've been moving furniture and miscellaneous stuff between the office and home since Saturday.
3a. The hubby hurt his back awhile ago so I haven't been letting him help much since I don't want to make it worse.
4. I'm emotionally tired from sending out resumes for the last month and being rejected.  A lot.

I finally feel like I have a minute to do a post, so I looked up sleepy shoes:

I love these!  I want a pair in my size, please.

I wish these were baby shoes.  The sleepy foxes are adorable, but I think they would be adorabler on baby shoes.

Or on socks.  I would wear these.

I can't decide if these are cute or creepy.

SO FLUFFY!!!!

And now I must go read for awhile before I head to bed.  I have an author interview next week and need to finish the book.  Hey, did you know that I have a book review podcast?  Well, I do, and I've been doing author interviews lately, which have been a lot of fun.  I've gotten to read books I might not otherwise, and I get to talk to awesome authors about books.  How can I not love that?  Now I just need to work on not sounding like such a dork when I'm interviewing.  If you want to check out the podcasts you can click on the link above.

Socks

I read the post I wrote last year on February 1st, and it kind of cracked me up because I could have written the exact same post today (except that I'm wearing different socks).  Speaking of socks...I MUST show you the socks SKD got me for Christmas!  You know, now that I've worn them and taken pictures of them all.

How fun are these in all of their crazy color combos?  They both match everything and at the same time match nothing, so I just wear them with whatever.  Plus, they are really thick and comfy and squishy, which is awesome.  So, basically the underlying theme of this post is that I'm one of those people who really really likes getting socks for Christmas.

Awesome Girlies

Tonight's post brought to you by comic book characters of the female variety.

We start with Super Girl.  Why?  Because of this awesomeness:

This is Pippi and Tink on Halloween, and I totally stole this from their mom's Facebook page.  Because this whole thing makes me smile.  I figure I can post it because they are wearing masks.  Today I am thankful for these 2, and their family.  I'm incredibly lucky that their parents let me spoil them and treat them like nieces and they haven't decided that I'm a weird creepy stalker adult of some kind.

These also make me smile.  They're caped socks!

Wonder Woman has always been my favorite.  When I was little I would take the empty yarn sleeves from Mom's knitting or crocheting and wear them on my wrists so I could pretend to be Wonder Woman.  I mean, she has an INVISIBLE JET!  Plus I totally wanted to look like Lynda Carter when I grew up.  I like that this picture has one of each style in it.

More capes!  Maybe for next year's Socktober I need some with capes.

I'm not sure if Pippi was a cat or Cat Woman, but I guess either way you could say she is a cat girl, so I went with it.

No capes, because Cat Woman doesn't have a cape, but these make me giggle.

I love those 2 babies who are no longer babies.  Can't wait until the next time I see them.

Under Where?

Yesterday as I was looking at Halloween Fuzzy Socks I came across this:

They're cute, and they're Halloween, but they're aren't fuzzy socks, nor do I think I need holiday-themed underpants.  Nor do we need an entire post about underwear.  But, I will continue on with the Socktober theme because A.) I like socks and B.) socks technically go under clothes so it's kind of like doing an underwear post.  Yes.  I know I need therapy.  Shut up and look at socks.

I can't help it, I just love themed socks.

Especially striped themed socks!

I like my socks a little taller on my calf (although these might be kids' socks), but I do appreciate the variety in this set.

I really like this set.

And this set is just swell.  I have nothing bad to say about it.  I've probably been lulled into a sock stupor at this point, though, so don't take my word for it.

Skeletal

There is a woman I follow on Twitter who keeps posting pictures of her socks with the hashtag #socktober.  If only I had realized this sooner, I could have participated.  I suppose I still could, starting with these:

I got these a couple of years ago and they still crack me up.  I'm easily amused.  I decided I should go see if there were shoes to go with my socks.

I LOVE that boot.  I want a pair.

I like these, too.

Are these shoes with attached socks?  Separate socks?  No shoes and really weird socks?

Ooooh...the hubby could have a pair, too!

I kind of like the color and I'm kind of creeped out at the same time.

I definitely think the hubby and I need skeleton shoes for next Halloween.  Maybe I can find some for the puppies, too...

Global Beatle Day

Thanks to the Pinterest Friend and the holiday calendar I found out that today is Global Beatles Day!

I definitely need to put this on my calendar so I can celebrate it on a yearly basis.  According to the GBD website:

GBD (founded 2009) is a day honoring and celebrating the phenomenon and ideals of the Beatles,  collectively and individually, for their gifts to the world including, but not limited to, their promotion of peace and love, of truth and youth, and of the expansion of human consciousness. More specifically, GBD commemorates the Beatles music – their promotion and expansion of rhythm and blues, rock and roll, world music… and especially their collective and personal exploration of a myriad  of musical ideas and innovations.

It then goes on to talk some about their song All You Need is Love, which is what I used as inspiration for this post, since I've already posted a ton of Beatles shoes.

It's hard to tell, but these say All You Need is Love over and over.  I like the colors, but I wish they were easier to read.

Here they are with their brothers and sisters in the line.

I seen this show!  I don't have the shoes, though.

I have these socks!  Because the BFF is awesome.

The first pair comes in baby size!

Seriously, I need to have a baby and dress him/her in nothing but Beatles stuff.

Heehee.

I can't leave you without the song itself:

Frankly, with everything going on in the world right now we could all use, and give a little more love.

Thanks, BFF!

I got a delightful box in the mail today at the office:

It's a Beatles Birthday Bonanza from the BFF!  I love the mug, but I love love love the stripey socks!

The hubby thought the boys needed to be back in the studio, so I found my gifts like this when I went looking for him in our new podcast studio.  He's a dork.  But a cute dork.

And now you must suffer through yet another Beatles post.  Or, you know, stop reading.  You have free will. I'm actually quite impressed that I keep finding new (to me) shoes to share.

Wow, those are bright.

And these are not so much.  I still like them, they're just a lot more subdued than that first picture.

Again, I say...someone who can paint needs to make me some Beatles shoes!

I really like these.  I love that it's Yellow Submarine, but in black and white, which is the complete opposite of Yellow Submarine's craziness.

I want to like these, but their faces creep me out a little bit.

Sigh.  The PB needs these.  I even know where to find that fabric, as I made the Nephew a blanket when he was a baby!

See how well a boy can sleep on a Beatles blankie?

Ahhh...I love my BFF.  She is the bestest best friend ever.

Manatee

It's Manatee Appreciation Day!  I don't really know a lot about manatees, but I appreciate that they are cute, funny, blobby looking creatures that float around.  For some reason I think of them as sweet.  I could be totally mistaken about that.  Let's appreciate some shoes:

How pretty are these?  Until you slide your big, smelly feet in them and squash the poor, blobby manatees.  You should be ashamed of yourself.

That is one dapper manatee.

Dang, Zazzle has a shoe for every occasion.   These are a little odd in that you can't really tell what's on them.  If I hadn't known it was manatees I might not have guessed just by looking.

There weren't a lot of shoe options, so I threw in some socks. Oh my gosh, how cute are these?
How was your day?  Did you appreciate any manatees?  My day has been kind of rough.  I'm really really tired and I'm not sure why.  I'm also sad for a variety of reasons.  Manatee socks help.  Niece snuggles would be better, though.  I need a teleporter.

Oh well, here is a manatee song to make you smile:
