Deer

There is a group of deer that wanders in and around the parents' yard:

This is from the front porch.  Yes, the neighbors have a caboose.

This is the back porch.

And this is the backyard.  Aren't they sweet?  I don't have to live here, so I love seeing them and watching them.  Mom and Dad do have to live here, so they are less enamored with the deer pooping in the yard and eating everything.

Obviously tonight's shoes shall be deer themed:

Why does this shoe have a hood ornament?

These are actually pretty sweet, but I would have to have a very specific occasion for which to wear them.

Awwww.  I love these.  Still can't think of where I would wear them, though.

But wherever it is, the PB could also go.

Yay, deer AND Christmas!  Or not, but they kind of look Christmas-y to me.

What is even happening here?  These make the hood ornament shoe look sane.  I...like the color...?

Much better.  I couldn't leave you with the insanity above.

Today was awesome.  The auntie, seester, Double A, Bean, Flower, and Laughter came over for a crafternoon.  The seester and I crocheted, Double A painted rocks, and everyone else kind of rotated around through various crafts.  It was a lot of fun.  The auntie and seester went home before it got dark, but Double A and the Bean just left and Laughter and Flower are having a sleepover.  Not a bad way to spend the 5th Day of Christmas, if I do say so myself.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mamas out there!  I know it's not always a happy day for everyone, especially those whose mothers have died or who want children and are unable or who have lost children.  I hope you found ways to find joy in the day and were surrounded by those who love you.  I didn't get to see my mom today, but I'm so glad I just got to spend 2 weeks with her.  She is the bestest and I miss her bunches and bunches.  This post is all about her.  I'm forgoing shoes for the night to show you my beautiful mama.

I decided not to get TOO carried away as I could post a million pictures.  And for some reason I don't seem to have one of Mom and the brother when he was a baby, just me and the seester.  They exist, but I don't  have one.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!  Thank you for everything.  I love you to the moon and back.

Family!

Today was awesome.  We had a family dinner to celebrate my (late) and Double A's (early) birthdays.  The rain from yesterday continued today which meant that Flower's and Laughter's soccer games got canceled, which meant that their whole family got to come to dinner when we didn't think they would be able to.  There were 12 of us:  me, Mom, Dad, the Brother, the Seester, the Brother-in-Law, Double A, the Bean, Flower, Laughter, the Auntie, and the Uncle (who I haven't seen in a couple of years, so that was extra-special-awesome!).  We were only missing DJ and the hubby, which is very very sad.  There was German chocolate cake, which is never ever sad.  Sigh...it was lovely, and I wish it could happen more often.  Here are some shoes from the day:

The Auntie's thrift store boots.  They're crazy, and cool, and totally work for her.

Dad and the Uncle were both wearing Keene's today.  One of these days I should round us all up and take a Keene family picture.

The Seester's adorable brown sandals, with a slight, unintentional photo-bomb from the Brother-in-Law.

So it was a pretty fabulous day.  So fabulous, in fact, that even going to the mostly terrible and very long Batman Vs. Superman couldn't ruin the overall fabulosity.

Vacation Day 1

Aaaah...Montana...how I've missed you.  Today was a fairly perfect day.  It started a little after midnight when my plane landed in Missoula and the Auntie picked me up at the airport.  I then got to see her new house and we chatted way too long and didn't get to bed until after 2:00.  One downside to the day was waking up at 7:30 because I had to go to the bathroom and then not being able to fall back asleep.  Oh well.  The Auntie and I then spent the (unseasonably warm) day playing.  We went to the University of Montana (my alma mater) bookstore and wandered around campus for awhile.  We had lunch at a new-to-both-of-us place downtown that was super yummy and then did lots of walking and window shopping.  We went to Rockin' Rudy's, which is one of my favorite places ever.  Then we me the seester at the girls' school and watched Flower and Laughter during their soccer practice, after which I spent the rest of the evening at the seester's, which is where I'm staying tonight.  Holy buckets, Flower and Laughter have both gotten so tall!  And they were cracking me up tonight with all of their stories and antics.  Here are some shoes from the day:

This selection of adorable baby shoes was in one of the stores the Auntie and I wandered through.

Flower's sparkly, strappy wedges.

Laughter's fun, polka dot fleep flops.

The Auntie's awesome Keenes.

The Seester's awesome Tevas.

My new shoes!  First pair I've bought in maybe a year?  I needed some black flats for this trip and for work, and really liked these.  It was incredibly stupid of me to walk around all day in shoes I hadn't broken in, though, and I now have the blisters to prove it.  But, I think JG will be so proud of my black shoes!

Laughter's feet selfie.

Laughter's and my feet, one each in a pair of the Seester's adorable purple shoes.  Picture taken by Flower.  You can also see the back of one of my new shoes, so you get a better understanding of the whole.

I really could not have asked for a better day.  I love my family.

Siblings!

Happy National Siblings Day!  I am fortunate enough to be the youngest of three children, and have both an older brother and an older sister.  The brother is 4 years and 11 days older (yes those 11 days are important because he is currently 45 and I am still only 40 which means for 11 days he's 5 years older than me instead of 4!) and the sister is 6 1/2 years older.  I am the baby and was something of a surprise.  In honor of the day I typed in "siblings shoes" and will now share some of the results.  Full disclosure, though:  I have NO idea what any of these shoes have to do with siblings.  You'll just have to draw your own conclusions.

I posted these last year in yellow.  There are a bunch of different colors.  Maybe so if you have a bunch of sisters you can all wear a different color?

Bright and fun and happy!  Which would generally describe the seester, but not so much the brother.  I'm afraid to go looking for sarcastic and caffeinated and grumpy shoes. (HA!)

Classic and elegant.  But they don't look like they fit terribly well.

In this case I would go for the black one and the seester could have the pink.

These shoes are weird and interesting, but I'm almost more interested to know what is going on with that skirt?  Robe?  Coat?  Curtain?

I think these are probably really cute from the side, but less so from the front.  Which is sad and strange.

These are strange and hilarious, and probably look the most like my siblings and I collectively as we're all a little strange and hilarious in our own right.  Those little one eyed monsters deserve better than this weird shoe, though.

Happy Siblings Day!  I will wish this to my biological siblings, my seester-in-law, and the BFF and other friends who are like siblings.  In fact, if you are an only child and want to adopt a sister, I'm more than happy to have a million siblings.  We can post pictures next year and totally confuse your friends and family!

Friends

Today is Friends Day on Facebook.  Facebook is celebrating its 12th birthday by putting together videos showcasing pictures of people's Facebook friends.  I didn't share my video (although I watched it), but decided I'd celebrate my friends with shoes.  Facebook "friends" run the gamut from family to best friends to acquaintances, to people I've never met.  I can't do shoes for all of them (546 friends would take forever), but I'll do a few.  So, in no particular order:

I have lots of friends who love green:  Mom, the Seester, Double A, and SKD, to name a few.  None of them wear heels, so I went with tennies.  Even though blue is my favorite, I'm also a fan of green, and I really like this shade.

Owls for the Pinterest Friend!  She's not into heels, either, but how adorable is this shoe?

Both the BFF and The Bean love purple.  The Bean is my mini-me, and loves her some heels.

We'll go with flats for the BFF.  I think these are adorable.  Flower also likes purple, and as she's only 10 she doesn't really need heels.

These are for the BSF.  I'm not entirely sure why, even.  I liked them, and they reminded me of her, so  there you have it, I guess.

I've posted these before, but they're my favorite of the adult moose shoes.  These, of course, are for my auntie.

There are lots more friends I could find shoes for.  I hope they don't feel left out.  I still love them and want to wish them a Happy Friends Day!

I got something like 21/36 hours of sleep in the last 2 days, so I'm feeling so very much better.  I could actually still go for a nap, but at least I've gotten some good sleep and it's actually helping.

Post Christmas Crochet Post

Now that Christmas is done and the presents are opened I can show you what I crocheted this year, although it's kinda lame.

Headbands. This one is Double A's.

The Bean's.

Tink's.

Flower's.

The Seester's.

 Laughter's.

The bottom one is Pippi's. For some reason I couldn't find the picture I took of just hers. Also, this post is all kinds of messed up because I'm doing it on my phone and it's not going terribly well. In fact, I'm skipping shoes because just this much has taken me 8 million hours to write. Apparently lame presents lead to lame posts. Yikes.
