Puppy Pups

Today I am thankful for my snuggle puppies.  I love coming home after work to their happy, wiggly, jumpy selves and then having them join me on the couch for some post-work decompression snuggles.  I mean, look a these adorable faces:

I just want to smooch them.  Oh wait, I do that on a regular basis.  So let's look at puppy shoes:

And now let's go to sleep.  Or not, I mean, do you what you need to do, but I'm exhausted, so I'm off to bed.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Some of us are in the spirit today:

Tallulah and I match!

I love this picture, from the sweater to the pose to the handsome dog.

Pedro McTate.

And, because it's a shoe blog, a couple of Halloween shoes (since I've already posted a bunch):

These just have a little bit of everything!

I like all of these, but as a set I really like them.

Happy Halloween!  Be safe out there.

Chaloopy-Loo

My Chalupa puppy has been extra snuggly lately.  I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.  He's not usually much of a snuggler, but he's been wanting extra attention.  I hope he's feeling OK.  Both puppies are at the office with me today, which is always nice.  They are all comfy-cozy in their bed behind my desk.  I'd kind of like to be comfy-cozy in my bed right now, too.  I have a sinus infection (color everyone shocked, I know) and now it's moving into my chest and I just want to sleep. Oh well.  I'll sleep eventually.  In the meantime while I'm waiting for the multiple things that are loading/finishing/whatever on my never-ending list of projects, I will share puppy shoes in honor of my Chaloopy puppy.

They're probably supposed to be napping, but I think they look all cute and happy and smug.

These are hilarious and make me smile.

Heehee.  The dog is so long it stretches across 2 shoes!  Yes, I'm easily amused.

Also adorable.

Scotty dogs!  Wearing Polka Dot Sweaters!  I kind of want these for me.  I also think they might be Mary Engelbreit, which is even cooler.

OK, enough puppy shoes.  I've been popping in a typing whenever I'm at a point where I'm waiting on those multiple things to finish, but now it's to take posting out of the multitasking rotation.  Maybe I'll replace it with puppy snuggles...

Puppies

It's National Puppy Day!  I miss these tiny little bitties.

I don't miss them pooping on the floor or throwing up every time they got in the car, but I miss those little faces.  I love my "big" puppies, too, though.  They are currently snuggled up next to me and the hubby as I type.  They are so very happy their daddy is home.

And now puppy shoes!

They're all kind of similar and all adorable.  The PB could have a different pair of puppy shoes for every day of the week!

Memory Lane: 2013. 2014 (we took the puppies on adventure although I don't think I realized it was National Puppy Day).

3 Things:
  1. The hubby is home!
  2. I love my puppies.  Never thought I'd be a dog person, but I have totally become one.
  3. I chopped 11 inches off my hair yesterday.  I loooooove it, and will donate hair for the 4th time.  I even updated my bitmoji to reflect the new do:

Yep.  Looks *just* like me.

No Shoes

I've been headache-y, grumpy, and ininspired the last couple of days, so no posting. I'm still not feeling any shoe inspiration, but thought I would give you a quick froggy tour.

This picture is the result of another surgery today. Soon there won't be any fabric left to stitch back together. Chalupa just can't not gnaw on poor froggy. But only original froggy. Froggy 2.0 is a different story. I ordered another one a couple of weeks ago so we would have a backup, and here is the result:

2.0 gets nothing but calmness and snuggles. I have no idea what goes on in my puppy's head.

Hopefully I'll be back to shoes tomorrow!

Poor Froggy

Last summer a good friend of ours gave the puppies 2 squeaky chew toys as gifts:

Tallulah and Chalupa liked Froggy and Piggy just fine.  They played with them some, fought over them some, but weren't rough with them, and thankfully didn't discover that they squeaked.  After awhile the started to ignore Froggy and play only with Piggy. Even if I would try to entice them with Froggy they would want Piggy instead.  Until a couple of weeks ago when someone apparently flipped a switch in Chalupa's head and he went bonkers over Froggy.  Soon, poor Froggy looked like this:

And by the following day all 4 limbs were off and some of the stuffing had been strewn about.  Chalupa goes absolutely bat-you-know-what crazy when he sees this thing, and the hubby can get him completely spazzed out just by picking it up and waving it around a little bit.  Because Chalupa has taken such a shine to it the hubby talked me into sewing all of Froggy's limbs back on and sewing his squeaker back in (I'd tried to surreptitiously dispose of said squeaker because the hubby delights in squeaking it non stop until I want to get violent with him, but got caught, dammit).  So I sewed and the hubby kept Chalupa from attacking me and Froggy until he was out of surgery.  Chalupa immediately took him under the coffee table and went to town.

By the next day he had managed to get all of the stuffing out of Froggy's torso and rip off one of his limbs.  Once again I got the puppy eyes from both Chalupa and the hubby, so here is what Froggy now looks like:

No more torso stuffing, and holes sewn up as best as possible where poor Froggy had been shredded.  He made it through today with all of his limbs, so we'll see where it goes from here.

I know I just did a frog post (exactly 2 months ago, actually), but in honor of Froggy's sacrifice for Chalupa's over-exuberant love, I have to go with more frog shoes tonight:

These frogs seem appropriately sad in light of their brother's plight. (heehee...rhyming)

I posted these last time in blue, but green looks more like a lily pad.

Here is a video of Chalupa-Froggy love.  In the meantime I'll just go back to making up more verses to "Froggy and Chalupa" (sung to to the tune of "Froggy went a-courtin'" of course).

Happy 4th!

I hope you all had a fun, safe, and relaxing holiday.  We did absolutely nothing but have a reality TV marathon, which was fine, but man do I miss our annual family reunion on Flathead Lake.  One of these years I'm actually going to be able to take the hubby home for that.  Oh well, we hung out with the puppies, who dressed up for the occasion:

Yes, I did make a paper hat and force them to wear it.  The hubby says I need therapy, and he says the puppies are going to need therapy as well if I keep tormenting them with outfits.

Pedro also wore the hat, but here's a picture from earlier in the day with him in his flag shirt (which I made last year).  He's sitting on the rug I crocheted from old t-shirts.

Our mantel is a little more festive than last year, but still not terribly exciting.  Have I mentioned that my awesome mama made all of the wooden people you see on the mantel each month?  So at least I always have something cute to start with.

Last one before the shoes.  I used to do flags on my toes every year for the 4th, but I haven't done it the last several years, and I'm clearly out of practice.  The right one looks like it was done by a blind, drunk toddler.  But at least I tried to be festive.

OK, shoes.  I love these.

And these.  I could maybe even make a pair like this (although I doubt I could get my lines to go straight).

I have no idea what is happening here, but it frightens me.

Cute, but again, all you would see is a boring red strap once you put them on.

Damn.  That is all.

Much better.  I think this is quite cute.

Oh wow.  Why oh why can't I get the hubby to wear crazy men's shoes?

Love love love, even with the stupid slingbacks.

I like these, too.  Kind of crazy, but I think 4th of July is a holiday you can get away with slightly crazy-festive.

Ribbon laces!  And adorable kiddo shoes.

Happy 4th, everyone.  The puppies and I are worn out from all of the couch snuggling we did today while watching TV, so we're off to bed.
