Last Day of 2015

Can you believe we're at the end of another year?  The calendar was celebratory with sparkles:

Pink this year.  One of the few themes I've seen from the calendar is sparkly shoes for New Year's Eve.  2014 was a crazy sparkly wedge, and 2013 was a rather odd silver sparkly shoe.  I think this year's offering is my favorite of the 3.

I was excited to see a familiar book pop up on the last day of the book calendar this morning:

And then I read the description.  If you've read the book you'll understand my disappointment in the blurb.  Did this person actually read the book?

Tomorrow will mark the first day in 3 years that I won't have a shoe calendar to look at, how crazy is that?  I don't always include the calendar shoes in the blog, but I do enjoy the moment each morning when I get to turn over the next page and see what craziness or awesomeness awaits.

Oh well.  I did a quick google of New Year's Eve shoes:

I agree with the calendar that New Year's shoes should be sparkly, and apparently Google agrees with us.

I think I'd like these better if they had a different heel.  This one is too chunky and overwhelming.

Ooooh...fancy!  Now these are some celebratory shoes.

I love the colors.  The feathers are hilarious to me, though.  I just can't picture myself in feathered shoes.

Regardless of whether your shoes are flats or heels, feathered or sparkly, I hope you have a very happy New Year!

Let's Play Catch (up)

I know, I know.  But I got a sinus infection and slept a lot, went to the dr on Tuesday so I could get antibiotics before I flew home on Wednesday.  The flights actually went fairly well thanks to the antibiotics, sinus Tylenol, gum, orange juice, and plane sleeping.  So then I got to snuggle with my hubby, and get the world's most fabulous welcome home from the puppies.  We were pretty exciting on New Year's and went to bed at 9:30.  At any rate, I haven't posted in awhile.  When I got home  I had 6 weeks (can you believe I was gone for SIX weeks??) of the shoe calendar to go through.  Here are a few pages for you:

Not sure about the parents, but I like the shoe on the day of their anniversary.  It kind of reminds me of a dress my mom got to wear  in another wedding (this time when she was a flower girl) that was shimmery gold and pink.

I have no idea what this has to do with Thanksgiving.  I'm not sure the auntie would appreciate it for her birthday, either.  Although I guess it would probably keep your ankles warm on a cold November day?

These 2 are...interesting?  And by interesting I mean oh hell no.

I like these.  I think they would have been perfect for my Christmas lights post.  They aren't Christmas lights,  but they could be with a little imagination,

Another for the oh hell no category.

December 15th is my uncle's birthday.  I wonder if he would like these?  (heehee)

Do these say Silent Night to you?  Because they aren't really working for me for Christmas Eve.

This I can see for Christmas, though.  It's like a present with a fancy bow.

Ohhh...so THIS is what I should do with all of my old cassette tapes!

And finally, New Year's Eve.  It's shiny and sparkly, so that works, but It's not doing much for me really.  I don't think I need these for my next New Year's Eve party, thank you.

The end of another calendar.  When I got home the hubby was shocked I didn't have one for this year and kind of insisted I order one.  It came today (Sunday delivery?!).  We'll have to examine some shoes from the new one soon.

In other news, the hubby and I went to our friends J&S's house today to watch the Cowboys-Lions game.  I was watching football AND wearing a Cowboys sweatshirt.  Damn, am I a good wife or what?  I even (kind of) paid attention!

OH!  One more thing:  December 30th was my second blogiversary!  Apparently the calendar knows it's my anniversary:

Blue!  I don't need the fuzzy, but Blue!  And it was blue last year, too!  I approve.  Now let's go eat some chocolate to celebrate.

New Year's Eve

Wow, the last day of 2013!  I can't lie, I won't be too terribly disappointed to see this year go.  There have been some definite high points, but it was also a year with too  many low points.  I'm ready for something new!  The calendar is being celebratory about the last day:

Sparkles?  Awesome!  Everything else?  Not so much!  WHAT is going on here, and WHY do they need to be peep toe?  Maybe they're cuter from the front?  Somehow I'm guessing no...

THIS is more of what I would have gone with.  Silver sparkles make me think New Year's, but these are just simple and pretty.  We don't need all of the WTH-ness of the calendar shoes.

New Year's Eve is also the 7th day of Christmas.  7 swans a-swimming:

Awwww....look at em swimming.

The Pinterest Friend sent me this.  It's...something.  Again, I must ask why some shoes are created and thought to be a good idea.

These are a *tiny* bit better?  OK,  not really.  These are stripper clogs with swans painted on them.

These aren't technically Christmas socks.  I know.  But I don't have 12 pairs of actual Christmas socks, so I'm trying to stretch things out here.

Happy New Year's!  Have fun!  Be safe!  Don't make resolutions that will only end up making you feel guilty!
