Hedgehog Day

We all know that February 2nd is Groundhog's Day, but did you know that today is also National Hedgehog Day?  It's on the internet, so it must be true.  I've already done a hedgehog post, but since hedgehogs, in my opinion, are cuter than groundhogs, I'm going to do another one.

It's not a shoe, but a foot warmer, and it's rather cute. It's also a tiny bit disturbing where your feet go.

Heehee.  Hedgehog in a fuzzy shoe.  The shoe is actually kind of ugly, but the hedgehog seems to like it.

 

I don't get this one.  The picture was described as a hedgehog shoe, but it's too abstract for my little brain to appreciate it.  I'd have to go with no on this one.

 

Do they make these in adult sizes?  Mom, can you find this material and make me something adorable out of it?  I'm sure Tink's and Pippi's big sister would love something, too.

HedgieHogs

The other day when I was looking for fox shoes for the Pinterest Friend's Pumpkin Seed, I also came across several pairs of hedgehog baby shoes.  The PF's hubby is apparently a fan of hedgehogs, so I figured I should do a post for him, too.  Also, Scout is a fan, as I have written before, so this isn't my first hedgehog post, but it is the first one of exclusively baby shoes.

I've done these before, but they're so stinking cute I had to include them again.

They say "give me a hug."  Heehee.  Hedgehog shoes could easily be porcupine shoes, I feel like.  I just love how smug these little guys look.

 

I know.  They're all the same shoes just in different colors, but I love them all, so you have to see them all.

 

These are funny to me.  They remind me of some sheets I had as a kid that had big mushrooms on them.  Or was it a blanket? Or both?  Ahhh...the 70s.  Anyhoodle.  Why are the mushrooms so much bigger than the hedgehogs?  I still think they're awfully cute, and I love the colors.

I was superamazinglyfantastically grumpy today, so these cute hedgiehog shoes helped with that a little bit.  I hope your day was less grumpy, but if it wasn't,  hope you too were helped by some hedgehog cuteness

Hedgie Hogs

This post is in honor of Tink's and Pippi's older sister, who is awesome, who is currently living in Norway, and who loves hedgehogs.  I never really thought much about hedgehogs before she started posting stuff about them on facebook, but I have to admit that they are pretty freakin adorable.  Maybe not adorable enough that I'm going to give in the hubby's latest requests that we get 3 for pets (aren't dragons enough?).  Last night's barrage of pleading came after watching this (disregard the weird music):

 

 

Cute, right?  Although I'm not completely sure that the hedgehog like the bath.  It might just be in curl up and hope for the best mode.  But, on to some hedgehog inspired footwear:

 

 

It's a collection containing both adorable and very weird.  You can decide for yourselves which are which. 

 

 

Love Your Pet Day

February 20 is Love Your Pet Day!  I'm guessing for most people with pets, that's pretty much every day, but today is the day you're supposed to spoil them even more, maybe?  The puppies are having a special day in that they got to come to the office with us.  This used to be fairly common in the old office, but since we moved they haven't come with us.  Unfortunately, part of the fence in our backyard blew down last night so they had to come with us so they didn't decide to go hang out with the neighbors or try to explore the wider world.  I like having them here.  The dragons stayed home, but Mondays are freeze-dried mealworm day for them, so at least they got a little treat.  Speaking of the dragons, last night I had a dream that one of the eggs hatched.  The baby was teeny-eensy-tiny, so I reached in to grab it to put it in a different cage, away from the adults.  As I was picking it up, Bulbasaur ran over and ate it!  The hubby said he had a similar dream a couple of nights ago.  I really don't think any of the eggs will actually hatch, but clearly my subconscious is stressed about what will happen if they do.

So, shoes.  Since it's Love Your Pet Day, I thought I'd do a variety of pets, not just puppies and dragons, because I've already done multiple posts on both.

Of course, I had to start with puppies and dragons.  I LOVE these.  Love.  Want.

Oh my goodness, the PB needs these!  They make me smile just looking at them.

The hubby isn't a cat fan.  I like cats, but am terribly allergic.  I don't think these would make me sneeze, though.

I've never personally had pet fish.  I once fish-sat for some friends in seminary.  One of the fish died on my watch...

I don't actually know anyone who has a pet hedgehog, but there are a ton of adorable videos on Facebook, so someone somewhere must have one.

 

Birdies!  I think these are incredibly sweet baby shoes.  Very Easter-y!

Obviously there are lots more pets in the world, but this is just a sampling. So, what kinds of pets do you have?  Anything unusual?  Let me know and I might have to do another post with different animals!

Owls

I'm assuming you knew (or guessed) that this post was coming.  I already did fox and hedgehog shoes for the Pinterest Friend's Pumpkin Seed (the PF's PS?), so of course I have to do owls as well.

These 2 are very similar, and I think I've posted them both before, but they are just so colorful and happy that I had to post them again.

 

I'm wondering if these were specifically cut out of fabric that has a variety of owls, and if so, what do the rest of the adorable owls look like?

I love these colors.

I think I've also posted these before, but I just don't care! Because cuteness.

I had to give you both pictures so you could see the different angles, AND that they are corduroy! I love corduroy.

I also love owls, and the PF and her PS.  It's a love fest.

New Boots, Please

I'm not wearing Valentine's socks today because I'm wearing tights.  I know you desperately want to know that, but it is relevant in that I'm wearing tights with a skirt and boots today, and the boots have gotten rather sad:

Notice Chalupa's adorable little feet up there at the top! Sadly adorable puppy feet aren't enough to distract from the state of my (used to be) good, black boots.  I've had them for many years, although I can't remember exactly how many, so at least I got some good use out of them.  I can't actually buy new boots at the moment, but I did go look at some for later.

Oh, first, a really terrible picture of my other pair of black boots.  They're in much better condition, and they're flats, so more comfortable, but that giant red zipper up the backs ruins them for a lot of outfits.  At least I think it does.

I like these.  They're dressy, and have some fun details that aren't too crazy.

Very simple, so they'd go with a lot. That heel looks awfully skinny, though.  I don't wear heels much anymore, so I'm out of practice.

 

And yet this heel might be a little too clunky?  Overall I like the boot a lot, and I could probably get used the heel.

 

These seem very similar to my current pair, just without the giant, red zipper (I checked in other angles to make sure). I really like this particular boot. I'm starting to embrace flats a lot more in my life these days, which probably means I'm old and boring or something (just kidding, don't send me snarky messages).

On a side note, Happy Groundhog's Day!  As I found out last year, it's also Hedgehog Day and Marmot Day.  It turns out I've never done an actual groundhog post.  2 years ago February 2 was Super Bowl Sunday, and 3 years ago I posted the same socks I posted yesterday, which is kind of funny (thanks for the socks, SKD...I'd forgotten you gave them to me...good think I have a blog for a memory).
