Dinos

Ugh...it's been a day.  The roller coaster continues and I don't know how much longer I can be on this ridiculous ride.  Except I always say that and then there's always something else that happens that enables me to continue for just a little longer.  Could it just be a little flatter, though?  Do the lows have to be so darn low?  We were expecting some good news this week, and while we didn't get complete bad news, we got delaying news.  I know, this is vague, but I can't give you the details.  I would appreciate whatever prayers/good thoughts you have to give.  Adulting is hard.  Adulting is a stupid word, but that doesn't make it any less hard.

For no connected reasons, dinosaur shoes are cheering me up today:

I love them all.  I think I need the slippers.  How could I be sad wearing those?  Thanks in advance for the prayers or thoughts or whatever your belief system supports.  I'm lucky to have you in my life and with me on this journey.

Miscellaneous

June 1st has quite the list of holidays to be celebrated:

Hey!  I wore a dress today!  And I have parents (who are awesome!)  And I love children and definitely stand for them!  I think I said nice things to people today.  (I hope?)  I'm all the time taking my shoes off under my desk, so I went barefoot.  Thankfully I didn't have to use the Heimlich Maneuver, though.

Now here are some shoes for the day:

Because you can never have too many pairs of Oscar the Grouch shoes.  Or is that just me?

I very much want both of these, please.

Eh, neither are to my taste, really, but you know I appreciate a good theme shoe.

Aaaaand now back to work.  Maybe we'll get home before 9:00 tonight.  Wouldn't that be nice?

Tick Tock

The holidays website tells me that today is Biological Clock Day.  Huh.  Like a I need a specific day in April to remind me that my biological clock is ticking?  Nope.  The darn thing has been ticking VERY loudly for a VERY long time.  Motherhood is the one thing I have felt the most consistently called to do and the one thing I may never achieve.  I just turned 41, which in the baby world is old.  It's not impossible, but the risk factors are high and the chances of getting pregnant get lower all the time.  I would be open to adoption, but I'm not sure that will happen, either.  I try to be maternal in other ways like being a good auntie.  Unfortunately I think I'm more of an office mother sometimes than an office manager, which is probably weird for all of our employees.  I have classmates who are grandparents.  There are children I used to babysit who now have children of their own.  So I'm feeling a little sad tonight and will now pour salt in the wound by showing you baby shoes.  LOTS of baby shoes.  Some I've had in my ideas folder for awhile (I collect things I find as I'm looking for other things/themes) and some I found today when I went looking.  Believe me, I could have done way more.

So cute.  Sad that the Potential Baby may only ever be that, but it is what it is.

PS--before you (very kindly) tell me that I'm not old and you are older, I will remind you that most of you are already parents and/or grandparents, and telling me I'm not old isn't really the point in this case.  It's also not true in medical terms.  But thank you anyway.  I also understand that it has been my own choices that have led me to where I am today, and while I don't regret most of them, I do regret a few, and I do think I might change some things if I had the chance, but since I can't, I can admit that it's my own fault that I'm childless and not following that call.

Dinos

Awwww...apparently it was dinosaur week at preschool this week.  I miss those little bundles of energy.  The Pinterest Friend, being an awesome teacher who does her research, also found me some dinosaur shoes.  I definitely think she needs a few of these for next year's dinosaur week!

Baby shoes are awesome.  I would wear them exclusively if they came in  my size...

These are interesting?  These would be perfect for a paleontologist going to a conference!

These remind me of the Lite Brite I used to play with as a kid.

Baby dinosaurs!  Wow, that Triceratops is fierce, no?

For the more subtle paleontologist, who doesn't wear heels.

For the bat-s--- crazy paleontologist.  What...why...I  am so confused.

Enjoy these fun/crazy dino shoes.  I'm thinking of going to bed at 8:00 tonight.  Woohoo Friday night!

Nothing

I was considering what to post tonight and thought, "I have absolutely nothing to say."  So I did an image search for "nothing shoes" and this is what popped up most consistently:

Dinosaur shoes!  That leave dinosaur footprints!  These are awesome, and I'm pretty sure the nephew needs a pair. Or 2.  Maybe they come in the hubby's size, too!  Why they showed up in the search is the website is Nothing But Dinosaurs.  Dang, I should post about nothing more often, these are totally fun!
