Oooh...Spooky

Did you remember that today was Friday the 13th?  I did this morning, made a random comment about it and then pretty forgot about it.  Are you superstitious?  I don't think I am, at least not in obvious ways.  Maybe in other ways that I don't really notice?  Not sure.  In honor of Friday 13th, here are some supersticious-ly themed shoes:

Black cats are supposed to be unlucky, but I'm thinking these are too cute to be unlucky, especially the second one.   See the little tail wrapped around the heel?  Adorbs.

Walking under ladders is also supposed to be unlucky.  Can I just say that I love the ladder shoe storage idea?  I might have to find an old ladder, paint it, and add it to the shoe closet.  I'm not exactly sure what's going on with the second shoe.  Is the ladder attached?  Is it saying you need to climb it to get into the shoe?  Am I being too literal.

That's...a lot of pink.  I'm not fond of animal print in general and pink is too much.  But they're 13 shoes!  And I liked that they came in a women's version, even if it's this particular version.

Uh oh...7 years bad luck if you break a mirror.  What if your dogs chew on your mirror shoes?  Does that count?  Or is it just the puppies who get the bad luck for chewing on the shoes in the first place?

Why is opening an umbrella in the house bad luck?  I like both of these pictures because of the colors and the contrasts.  Very fun.  I think I like the top pair, but it's hard to tell because I can't move beyond the crazy tights to actually concentrate on the shoes.

If you aren't superstitious, then happy Friday! If you are, then I hope you stayed home, snuggled in with a pint of ice cream, and read a good book, thus avoiding cats, ladders, mirrors, umbrellas, and whatever else you consider to be bad luck.

Cinderella

This link was shared on my Facebook wall today. It's Cinderella's glass slipper as reimagined by modern designers. As I wrote on the post, I really like the idea, but not so sure about the actual shoes. Let's take a look:

This one isn't bad, actually. I like the sparkles.

This doesn't make me think glass slipper. It does make me think OUCH!

Speaking of ouch, I'd probably slice myself or someone else open with this.  Not exactly the stuff of Disney fairy tales. Brothers Grimm, yes.

Glass spectator pumps?

I think this person got confused and designed Cinderella's wedding shoes instead of her glass slippers.

Don't like the heel, really don't like the platform.

Blue! Sparkly! Ankle strap! It was going so well until the front.

Oh come on, a glass bootie? Seriously?

So what do you think, any of these Cinderella-worthy?

Tallulah

My little Tallulah Cooper has been a total snuggle buggle today.  Well, she actually is most days, but today she was extra sweet and snuggled with me while I worked on the spreadsheet from hell.  Chalupa tried, but he's too wild and kept falling off my lap.  Here's miss TC right now as I'm typing:

She likes to shove her head under my arm.  She's very helpful.  Tonight's shoes are all about Tallulah.  These are what I found when I typed in her name + shoes.  Most of them gave no explanation as to why they appeared under that particular search, but oh well.  I'm not terribly particular.  Oh, but before the shoes, did you know that Tallulah has some books written about her?  She's a puppy of many mysteries.  OK, on to the shoes.

There were lots of Lelli Kelly shoes, and they were all super girly.  This one has a dragonfly on it!  I might have to do a post just on this line one of these days.

These are adorable.  I would get a matching pair for me because they look like the type of brand that would have good arch support.

I'd wear these for Easter.  Tallulah prefers to go bare-pawed.

This shoe popped up 18,000 times, so I figured I should include it even though it's kind of ugly.  Maybe if the underlining was a color?

Ooooh...red and shiny!

These are trying so hard to be cute, and they're almost making it.  If they were just a little less chunky in the heel I think we'd have winners.

Wait, maybe I should wear these for Easter.  They remind me of an impressionist painting.

And, of course, Ms. Tallulah Bankhead herself.  This wasn't the only picture of her drinking champagne out of a (her?) shoe.  I like shoes, and sometimes I like champagne, but I have never gotten the urge to drink the latter out of the former.  My Tallulah says she doesn't need the shoe, she prefers to snack on the shoe itself.

Puppy snuggles are good.  Talullah snuggles are the best (shhh...don't tell Chalupa).

Rainbows

As I'm sure all of you know, relationships are hard, and some days are harder than others.  And some days are worse than that.  I'm not saying today was the worst of those options, but it wasn't easy, either.  Kind of made me wish we had a marriage counselor stashed in a closet that we could break out when necessary.  Oh, and the fact that I hate confrontation so that even slightly intense conversations seem like horrible huge blowouts.  Oh yeah...good times.  So I need some shoes to cheer me up, and as you might know, rainbows are good at that.  I'm sure I could go deeper and talk about rainbows as a metaphor, something pretty after rain, blah blah blah, but we're just going to look at shoes.  I may or may not wear any of the following, but I'm going to let you decided which are which.  I have a crying jag headache, so I'm making you do the work tonight.

Caring Shoes

It was one of those days where I felt like I went non-stop and got absolutely nothing done.  And of course I got stuff done, it just doesn't feel equivalent to the amount of running around I did.  On the plus side, I got Skype with my auntie for an hour and a half this morning.  That was absolutely awesome.  I haven't seen her in forever, so it was nice to at least be able to see her on the computer.  She's pretty darn amazing for about a million and a half reasons.

So, remember the other night when the Pinterest Friend was on a bear kick?  Well, one of those pairs of shoes was Care Bears, and of course I had to go search out some more since they were a part of my childhood.

You know I love me some heels, and I go for a lot of crazy heels, but I don't think I'm wearing Care Bear heels any time soon.  I'd have to have a pretty specific occasion for it.

These are cute.  I'm more likely to wear these.  Have you noticed how much more I'm going for flats since I went on leave?

Obligatory adorable baby shoes.

Nope.  Not wearing these either.

Yay blue!  Hmmm...too spot on to wear these when the depression hits hard?

These sure are yellow.  I like the brightness, actually.  I'd always know where my feet were.

Another pair of cute tennies.

And slippers.  Like the colors.  I think I'm basically landing on the side of liking the bright colors of most of these shoes, but not really feeling a huge urge to wear them.

Finally, on a non Care Bears related note, I finally organized my shoe closet!

Because of the way the guest room and office fit together this closet is a really wonky shape, but this shelf fits perfectly in one of those weird angles.  The shelf came from my grandma's house and I finally found a way to rescue it from the garage and bring it into the house.  Yes, it's in a closet, but I'm counting that as progress.  So my boots are on the floor, but I fit all of my non-boots into the book case.  In the past few months I've made several Goodwill trips and gotten rid of probably 2/3 of my shoes.  I'm pretty proud of myself in that I organized this closet, one half shoes, the other half crafts, and didn't spend any money.  I just re-purposed stuff from the house.

Hedgehog Day

We all know that February 2nd is Groundhog's Day, but did you know that today is also National Hedgehog Day?  It's on the internet, so it must be true.  I've already done a hedgehog post, but since hedgehogs, in my opinion, are cuter than groundhogs, I'm going to do another one.

It's not a shoe, but a foot warmer, and it's rather cute. It's also a tiny bit disturbing where your feet go.

Awww...hedgehogs in love.  So perfect for February!

Heehee.  Hedgehog in a fuzzy shoe.  The shoe is actually kind of ugly, but the hedgehog seems to like it.

I don't get this one.  The picture was described as a hedgehog shoe, but it's too abstract for my little brain to appreciate it.  I'd have to go with no on this one.

Do they make these in adult sizes?  Mom, can you find this material and make me something adorable out of it?  I'm sure Tink's and Pippi's big sister would love something, too.

More Hedgehog Day meets Valentine's Day shoes!

Now, how should National Hedgehog Day be celebrated?  I want to hear your suggestions, so ready? Go!
