Animal Crackers, Yum!

Today is National Animal Crackers Day.  Although frankly, animal crackers day could be every day because they are yummy.  I love the frosted kind, the kind in the circus box, the kind that comes in the giant plastic bear container.  Today I celebrated with the frosted kind:

I mean, come on: frosting AND sprinkles?  What's not to love?  Although half the time I have no idea what the animals are supposed to be, but that's a minor consideration.

I couldn't find any shoes specifically dealing with animal crackers, and I recently did a zoo post (animal crackers are usually zoo or circus themed), so I just found animal shoes I thought were adorable.  As such, I'm going to leave the comments to you because all of mine would be some variation of awww...so cute!

I love them all.  They are adorable.

If you looked back at the zoo post you'll notice a similarity in theme with this one beyond just animal shoes, and that is EAT ALL THE THINGS!  I don't know what is going on with me lately, but I am hungry all the fricking time.  I'm like a bottomless pit with a tapeworm who also has a bottomless pit.  I don't know if it's stress or hormones, or the planetary alignment or what, but dang.  Hence the purchasing and eating of frosted animal crackers.  Sigh.  My butt is going to be huge if I keep this up.

Moving on.

Zoooooo

I had really good intentions on today in terms of eating healthy.  I did pretty well for awhile and then it was like a switch was flipped and I was EAT ALL THE THINGS!!!!  Sigh.  Not the worst thing in the world, and I didn't eat things that were really awful, I just felt like a bottomless pit.  It was crazy.

On a totally different note, today is Dog Farting Awareness Day.  Most of the comments on my Facebook post were some variation of "we are VERY aware of dog farts at our house!"  It cracks me up that there's a day for this.  It's also Dog Fighting Awareness Day, so I'm wondering if it's related, and if it's a lighter way to bring up dog-related issues.  As I said on this day last year, I will not be incorporating this day into the shoes for tonight's post.

Instead, we will celebrate Zoo Lover's Day!  I have been to very few zoos in my life, but zoo shoes seem rather appealing, so here we go:

Lellie Kelly shoes always seem really fun and really girly.  These are cute and very zoo-centric.

A shoe zoo!

These are shoes representing a specific zoo, but I can't remember which and can't read what it says except that the zoo starts with B.  Panda shoes are always cute, though.

Soooo cute.  They're for kids, but I'd wear them.  If they had a hippo instead of an elephant (not that there's anything wrong with elephants) I could wear them while singing the Hippo Song!

These are my favorite.  So bright and colorful and fun.  The PB could have these for the zoo, or when we read Noah's Ark, or when we go on safari.  You know, like you do with a baby.

I'm going to go to bed now in an attempt to not eat anything else.

Escapist Yarn

Ugh, I can't even with today.  If I try to write about it I will will verbally vomit and vent all over you, and this is neither the time nor the place for that.  Instead, I will say that I just started a new book, about a woman who owns a yarn shop and teaches knitting classes.  I would like to escape into a yarn store, but instead I will just look at pictures of crocheted shoes.

Baby shoes always make me feel better.

Slippers

I know, I know.  It's been forever again since I've posted.  The hubby and I have been really busy working on a giant project and I've been too tired to post at night.  I'm exhausted right now, but at least I'll get to bed before 4:30 am like I did on Sunday night.  I was convinced I could finish that step of the project, but it turned out I had another seven hours when I started again at 10:30 on Monday.  Ugh.  Anyway, my cousin posted this series of pictures on my Facebook page the other day, and they seem appropriate for my current level of sleepiness:

I'll take a pair of each and rotate through them every 10 days.  The advantage working from home is the ability to wear silly slippers whenever you want.  Must sleep, now.  As Effie Trinket would say, tomorrow's "another big big day!"

There's an Elephant on My Chest

I have a chest cold.  This is actually sort of funny (not ha ha) in that I always always get sick right after I do a camp at church.  Arts Camp started today so apparently my body thought it shouldn't deprive me of at least part of my routine and gave me the cold a week early.  I started coughing on Friday, but actually felt physically fine until today.  Now my throat hurts, I'm hacking up stuff, I have a fever, blah blah blah.  On the plus side, at this point in time I do NOT have a sinus infection!  This is a small victory for those of  you who know of my relationship with the damn sinus infection.  Anyway, since there is a small elephant who has decided to take up residence on my chest, tonight's shoes are all about elephants.

I can't tell if these are kid shoes or not, but I would wear them if they came in my size, because they make me smile.

The detail on these is pretty amazing, but I have to say they aren't to my taste.  I think I like my elephantine footwear to be whimsical rather than realistic.

These are so cute.  A little elephant conversation!

Again, realistic instead of whimsical, but come on!  They are shoes with an elephant butt on them!  I'm dorky and immature enough to admit that I find that amusing.

Baby shoes.  Of course.

More baby shoes.  There were actually pictures of these in a varieties of colors, but I was already carried away and didn't want to overload you even more.

I was going to be done after the last pair, but then I found this.  This is insane.  More of the suggestion of an elephant, so less insane than if it were a full-blown elephant shaped shoe, but still pretty whacky.

Again, I was going to be done.  I don't even like elephants this much.  I mean, I have nothing against, them, I find them very interesting, I love the elephant march in The Jungle Book, elephants aren't my go-to favorite animal.  But dang if there aren't a TON of shoes out there.  I got sucked in and couldn't stop. I mean, I had to include the heels, right?

And these were just a sweet little bonus.

Good night all.  I'm taking my elephant (I've decided to name her Evette) and we're going to bed.
