Thanks, PF!

I have a Facebook friend who frequently writes that she's "feeling some kind of way."  That describes my past couple of days.  I'm feeling some kind of way, but I don't know exactly what that way is.  I've been restless, a little grumpy, weirdish, and some other stuff I haven't been able to identify.  I don't know.  I feel like I try too hard but I don't try hard enough.  I feel like I send stuff out in the universe and no one gives a s***, but I also feel like they shouldn't give a s*** because I suck and I send nothing out into the universe.  Yes, I'm having issues, and clearly I need to figure stuff out.  But not at 10:30 on a Wednesday night.  Instead I'm going to give you the latest batch of shoes from the Pinterest Friend.

If I were still in a place where I had to take blue book exams, I would totally wear these to take them.

Hmmmm...niece project?

This is hilarious.  Also, why?

These are really interesting.  I would plan a Halloween outfit around these.

Clear, light up shoes.  I don't honestly know what to say about these.

Oh wait...not it's THESE I don't know what to say about.  What is happening here?  Is it wrong that my first thought was the yellow one looks like someone peed in it?

Pineapple shoes.  Double A and The Bean give each other pineapple stuff and say, "suck it."  It's a Dexter reference, I guess.  These are cute, and I do not wish to tell anyone to suck it.

Awwww...so adorable!  The BFF is a Leo, and I'm thinking she needs lion slippers.

These are hilarious to me.  I love a good Mary Jane; never thought I could have Mary Jane socks.

It's a darn good thing the PF is awesome and keeps me in cute shoe pictures so I still have something to post even when I'm feeling all wibbly wobbly.

Calendar Birthday Shoes

Yesterday I got to Skype with the fam for the Bean's birthday.  During the course of the conversation the Bean, Double A, Mom and I were killing some time waiting for the hubby to get off the phone (he was working) so we could tell the fam a story that he wanted to be part of.  While we were waiting I showed them the shoes for yesterday from the shoe calendar, and then Double A wanted to see the ones from her birthday as well.  Turns out they both got vintage shoes on their birthdays:

These are from yesterday, so the Bean's birthday, and they're from 1918.  Aren't they cool?

Double A got pink petit point shoes from 1945.

Quick side note:  These pictures aren't from the calendar, and yes, they would have been larger pictures had I gotten them from the calendar, but a. the hubby is sleeping and I don't want to bother him, and b. I'm just too lazy to go get the calendar and scan the pictures in.

I thought I'd go see what else I could find from 1918 (or at least what the internet says are shoes from 1918).

I love the color.  Overall the shoe is a bit clunky, but it's vintage, so I'm not going to hold a little clunkiness against it.

I really want to like these, but they're just slightly off for me.  I can't quite put my finger on why.

These are weird.  And kind of cool.  And they prove that weird-shaped cutouts in otherwise normal shoes are not a new thing.

And now on to more petit point.  Love these.  Even the heels have needlework!

These aren't baby shoes, these are doll shoes.  That was one spoiled doll.

I love the colors of this one, so bright and fun.

I'm so very happy I have nieces.  And that their birthdays coincided with cool shoes on the shoe calendar.

A Day Late and a Doughnut Short

I can't believe yesterday was National Doughnut Day and I didn't post!  And the Pinterest Friend even sent me doughnut shoes, and I still didn't post!  I'll just post them tonight and we'll pretend it's still doughnut day:

She found such cute ones, it would be rude not to post them, even if I am late.

I'm super tired again tonight (last night too, which is why no post).  It's actually for a good reason:  I've been trying to take the puppies for a walk every day, and have been doing pretty well at being consistent.  Yesterday and today, though, after their walk I went back out and walked 4-5 miles both days.  It felt good, but dang is it making me tired!  I am seriously out of shape.  So, since I'm tired and a little loopy, instead of writing more, I'm going to let you peruse some of the other selections the PF has sent me recently but I haven't gotten around to posting.  Enjoy!

Thanks, PF!  Good night, all!

Brownies

I've been doing some baking experimenting.  The hubby often craves something sweet, but since he's diabetic he no longer eats sugar or flour.  Sugar free frozen yogurt is a good option sometimes, but it jacks up his tummy, so it's not good on a regular basis.  The other night I decided to try and bake something with what we had in the house.  The result was sugar-free, gluten-free, vegan brownies.  Or, "soulless brownies," as the hubby calls them.  The first batch was OK, but the 2nd batch that I made last night is actually pretty good.  I used bananas, almond milk, natural peanut butter, cocoa powder, oatmeal, quinoa flour (quinoa flour is one of the few alternative carbs we've found that doesn't screw up his blood sugar), and a little bit of Splenda.  Like I said, they're actually pretty good, and the hubby decided they are so good he no longer has to call them soulless.  Go me and the health food!  Here are some shoes in honor of my tiny kitchen accomplishment.

My brownies didn't have shoes on them.  Or frosting.  But these are adorable.

Vintage brown shoes from the 50s.  With an apron and some pearls and wearing these shoes I can whip up a batch of brownies in no time!

I'd like these better with a different heel.  These would be brownies with caramel.

Oooh, brown velvet!  Fun.

More brown velvet and bows.  Apparently I'm enjoying a theme tonight.

I love riding boots right now.  I'm not sure how I feel about gray and brown together, but I won't hold that against the boots.

And just because they're adorable, and the PB needs something for when we bake brownies someday.

Ugh, I feel crappy today.  Allergies are kicking my patootie, but my stomach has been weird all day and I keep having sweats/chills and I'm all achy.  I think it's time to go to bed.

First Day of April

So today was April Fool's Day. Did you fall for any tricks?  I actually had the opposite.  I had a friend send an email about a new job, which is awesome because she's been miserable at her current one for a long time.  I really wanted it to be true, but, I had to check to make sure she wasn't pulling a prank.  It was true!  Yay!  She said she forgot it was even April Fools, which I frequently do as well.

I was wandering around Kohl's tonight and found a shoe that seemed like it was made especially for today:

OK, they aren't that bad.  I love bright colors, and these are fun in that way, they're just too much.  Maybe they look awesome on someone who isn't me.  Believe me, the picture didn't capture the crazy  as well as I hoped.

In the spirit of the day, SKD posted a video to my Facebook wall about the new trend in shoes, the selfie shoe!

First, those shoes would be super cute if they didn't have the crazy, phone-holding toes.  Second, not many people can life their leg that high?  And third, are you using a self timer?  How would you hit the button to take the picture?  Yes, I know, I probably thought way too much about a silly prank, but I can't help it, it's just how my brain works.

These 4 are vintage shoes that were labeled as "April Fools Day Sale."  I didn't figure we needed to have the whole post being sill shoes.  I love this last pair, and the pansy shoes are crazy bright, but I had to post them for my mama.  I like the blue ones, and I even like the top pair in a weird kind of way.  Even if they are stupid slingbacks.

April Fools Day is also, as I've mentioned before, my brother's birthday.  I'm not posting a shoe picture in honor of this occasion this year, because I'd rather post this:

Awwww...baby big brother!  He looks concerned about something.  Probably that he hadn't eaten in 5 minutes or so.  Apparently he ate all the darn time.  It's funny how I can totally see the 44 year old man he's become in this tiny baby face.  Happy Birthday!

Hope you had an uneventful day, unless you like pranks, and then I hope you had a totally eventful day!

Penguinos!

The Bean and Double A got out of school at 1:00 today, so we got to hang out all afternoon.  And we didn't just get to hang out, we got to hang out in matching penguin pajamas! Here we are modeling our PJs:

Yes, I'm aware that we have no heads...  So, why do we have matching pajamas you ask?  I ordered them for our movie marathon a couple of weeks ago, but they didn't arrive until yesterday.  It actually worked out OK since we all went to see The Penguins of Madagascar tonight and had themed outfits for the event.  Yes, I'm almost 40 and just went to the movie in my pajamas.  Don't judge me.

Sadly we didn't have any penguin shoes to go with our outfits.

They're all adorable, so instead of saying that for EVERY picture, I'll spare you and only make the one comment.

I'm not sure I would call these adorable.  They're interesting, certainly, and even more so because they are vintage.

I hope you have some adorable pajamas to sleep in this Christmas.  If not, you should find some nieces and go out and get matching ones!
