Baby Elsa

I spent a lovely day with the Seester, Flower, Laughter, and 3 kiddos the Seester was watching today, all of whom are very sweet.  They are 13 months, 5, and 7, so I definitely got my kid fix in.  And after yesterday I got a bit of a baby fix, which was a little bittersweet, but she's such a little love that I just tried to soak it in as much as possible.  Her name is Elsa and since she's a baby we all tended to call her baby Elsa.  On a rather random note, I had to laugh because at one point she was chewing on a toy and I looked and it was an Anna doll from Frozen and Elsa was chewing on poor Anna's head.  Maybe you had to be there.  Or maybe I'm just tired from playing with babies and then going home.  Let's look at Baby Elsa shoes so I can go to bed, kay?

I'll try to move on to big people shoes tomorrow, but I'm not promising anything.

Crafternoon

In October SKD, the hubby, and I spent a lovely afternoon painting pumpkins.  We had such a good time we decided we needed to do it more often.  And so yesterday we did.  It probably should have been a more Thanksgiving-related craft, but we saw a video on Facebook and had all of the supplies between us, so we went with snowmen, which we both love:

The video showed them with white hats, made from the toes of the same sock used to make their bodies, but SKD has a ton of mismatched socks (4 kids apparently can lose a lot of socks over time!), so we went with colored hats and matching scarves.  It was a lot of fun, and a nice, silly way to spend the afternoon in the midst of all the crazy-stressful-depression of late.

Because I am a dork, I dressed appropriated for the occasion with snowman socks and earrings.

Because I am a bossy dork, I also decreed that everyone was only allowed to drink out of snowman cups.

Because how cute are these?  SKD was a good sport about it, and the hubby drank one cup of iced tea, but then said since he wasn't crafting he was going to drink out of something bigger.  Silly hubby.  And I also completely understand.

OK, obviously today will be snowman related in terms of shoes.  Some of you actually have snow whereas we in California have to create our snowmen out of socks.

I've posted some of these before, and I'm not even going to apologize for it.  I love snowmen, baby shoes, and slippers, so of course I love the entire selection.  And the Olaf shoes are for The Bean, since she's a fan.

Maybe in January we'll do a turkey craft of some sort...

Seesters

According to Facebook (which would never lie to me) and my list of holidays, today was Sister's Day.

See?  Anna and Elsa would never lie to me either.  It would be rude.

It turns out, I have a sister, and she's pretty fabulous.

This is us on the day of her 8th grade graduation.  I was in 1st grade.  Weren't we cute?

Here are our shoes on Easter in 2010.  Seester Easter feet!  I didn't even have a shoe blog then and she still took a shoe picture with me.  Because she is awesome.

In her honor, and in celebration of sisters everywhere, I leave you with this (make sure you check out their fab shoes):

...??...

I haven't been posting, because I can't seem to think of a thing to write about this week.  It's not like there is nothing going on.  The hubby is traveling for training this week, so it's just me, the puppies, and the dragons (and I saw the dragons mating today, which was ODD.  It was like a train wreck, I couldn't seem to look away--but that's not exactly an appropriate thing to look for related shoes).  SKD came over last night for a girls' night and sleepover.  I made pizza and frozen yogurt and we watched Frozen (yay!), but I've already done enough posts on the movie and characters.  Today I got allergy shots.  Definitely not exciting.  Soooo...I'm kind of at a loss.  Usually when I can't think of anything to post I just start typing random things in to the image search.  Didn't work for me tonight.  Apparently the shoe muse is on vacation.  Basically I'm just posting now to tell you why I haven't posted.  Help!  I need inspiration!  Someone, please give me some suggestions...

Olaf the Snowman

Frozen came out on DVD today and The Bean has been sooooo excited.  Apparently she informed the fam that they were watching it at 5:00 tonight.  It's nights like this I wish I had a teleporter so I could go home for a few hours and then come back.  Since I can't, I'll just dedicate this post to The Bean, and go with some more Frozen shoes.  This time we're going with Olaf because the PF recently sent me this:

These are adorable and hilarious.  My birthday is coming up, who wants to make me some?

The rest I will just give you without comment because they're all Olaf, they're all cute, and I think each of the nieces should get a pair.

Let me finish by saying that going home and watching Frozen would have been way more fun than going to the gym and lifting weights tonight.  Can someone just dip me in a nice vat of biofreeze please?

The PF

Holy buckets, the Pinterest Friend has been busy.  She's been sending me pins, and I've been saving them up, but until tonight I didn't realize quite how many I had stockpiled.  Let's take a peak, shall we?

PF loves owls, but even she admits that these are cracked out and cracked her up.  Wow.  I don't really even know what to say about these.  Except, WTH?

I actually used to have a pair very similar to this.  I like the straps better on these than what I had, but in general I'm not a huge fan of the mustard yellow color.  I'd love them if they were more buttery yellow, or sunny yellow.

Here's a color I can get on board with.  These are Qupid, and I actually own a pair of shoes of that brand, so I know they're relatively comfortable.  These are creeping a little close to booties for me, but not enough that I'm mad at them or anything.

Oh my goodness.  How did I not find  these for my Frozen post?  Is it weird that I kind of find these cute?  I love the color, of course, but it might be my recent experience of being absolutely sucked into the Frozen soundtrack by the nieces that is currently influencing me.

I actually don't like these as much, just because they aren't the actual drawings.  But I love Olaf, and it has my favorite quote on the heel ("Winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle, but put me in summer and I'll be a...Happy Snowman!").  For that reason alone I will love these forever.

She found these after I asked her if she was channeling Disney awhile back.  If you click on the picture you can see it bigger so you can see some more of the detail.  See if you can name all of the character inspirations behind each shoe.

Thank you, PF!  You remain awesome as always!

Pinkalicious and Frozen

I spent a good chunk of the day either reading Pinkalicious (4000 times) with Laughter or singing along to the Frozen soundtrack (47000 times) with Tink, and eventually all of the girls.  It was a lot of fun and just slightly annoying.  I'm a little tired of reading that book, now, and I have Let's Go Build a Snowman stuck in my head.  I'm still going to go with fun, though.  Seemed only right to go look for some Pinkalicious and Frozen shoes:

Damn.  That is crazy.

These are inspired by Elsa in Frozen.  I like them.  Of course, they are blue and sparkly, so what's not to like?

These are the boots that Anna wears.  I also like these.  Probably because the movie is very Scandinavian, as is the pattern on these boots.  (As am I).  If you haven't seen the movie and don't know what I'm talking about, go watch it!  It's cute.  And I'm not going to do ALL the work for you.  Sheesh.

These are Flower's feet from yesterday.  I'm loving the striped leggins and polka dot socks.  She had a patterned shirt on, too, but now I can't remember what the pattern was.  She has some awesome fashion sense, our Flower.  Oh, the Mary Janes are cute too!

Naturally Laughter wanted me to take a picture of her shoes, too, but she didn't happen to be wearing any, and she insisted they were in Mom's car and she couldn't possibly go get them.  I didn't actually go look to verify they were in the car and not by the front door, I just took a picture of her cute little feet and striped pants.

Tomorrow it's off to the"big city" with the seester and Laughter.  Should be fun!
